Vandalism of accurate edit by user[edit]

Hi editors,

This user Waleewedemi who is a staff of Segun Adebutu keeps removing the edit on his page even when the content is accurate. The new column talked about the detention of Segun Adebutu by the anti-graft agency called Economic and Financial Crimes Commission . He has removed the new column with authentic reference thrice.

February 2020[edit]

Information icon It may not have been your intention, but one of your edits, specifically one that you made on Segun Adebutu, may have introduced material that some consider controversial. Due to this, your edits may have been reverted. When adding material that may be controversial, it is good practice to first discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them, to gain consensus over whether or not to include the text, phrasing, etc. If you believe that the information you added was correct, please initiate that discussion. Thank you. Lapablo (talk) 10:26, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Lapablo, Edit was reviewed by TransporterMan and WP:PUBLICFIGURE was satisfied. Previous editor Waleewedemi was blocked indefinitely for vandalism. Opelogbon (talk) 13:24, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism accusations[edit]

Opelogbon, I'm going to strongly recommend that you stop making accusations of vandalism. Very few things here at Wikipedia are actually considered vandalism, see WP:VANDNOT, and accusing editors of vandalism when what they've done is not vandalism is itself a violation of our conduct policies. (And remember that in adjudging what people have done we are to assume good faith.) In some ways worse than that, however, experienced editors here know when things are vandalism and when they're not and accusing people of vandalism when it's not just makes you look bad. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 18:26, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TransporterMan Thank you for the enlightenment. My concern is with the way the controversial column is been edited and deleted in spite of the resolution reached on it. I am sure in the next few days, same thing will happen to the page. Perhaps, if it is protected, such intrusion without new reliable sources can be checked. Again, thank you very much. Opelogbon (talk) 18:44, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that the intrusions have yet reached the level that an administrator would be willing to fully protect the article. That's generally only done when the activity becomes so frequent that ordinary editing and watchfulness are strained to handle it. But I'm keeping the idea in mind. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 19:01, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Opelogbon, You are just reverting the changes on page of Segun Adebutu without any proper reference. The new content which has been added is provided by the same News Agency which published this news. Kindly read it first before making any further changes. ThanksKaimano97 (talk) 15:39, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Opelogbon, title of the controversy section is wrong according to wikipedia policy of criticism. Kindly check WP:Criticism and read when controversy word can be used. Kaimano97 (talk) 10:02, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kaimano97, sorry but WP:Criticism is only an essay, not policy (see the box at the top of that page), and is only an opinion. It's not binding on anyone and may not reflect the general practices or consensus in the encyclopedia. So that argument does not work. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 17:50, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

September 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jamiebuba. I noticed that you recently removed content from Flutterwave without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jamiebuba (talk) 22:00, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jamiebuba for the input. I actually explained the reason for the removal. None of the references provided for the content satisfied reliable source. You may wish to check the edit histroy and the talk page as well. Thanks Opelogbon (talk) 22:05, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The response on Wikipedia:Conflict of interest does not apply. Just can check my edit history. I have been contributing to issues around Nigeria and Africa. If this content has Wikipedia:Reliable sources this dispute wont arise. If you also go through the edit of the page, you will discover I created the controversy section as well.
