A tag has been placed on Scomberoides lysan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. by Snowolf (talk) on 13:33, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as you can see by the date, it was a very old warning ;-). I see that the article is now more than acceptable. I thank you for your contributions here at wikipedia. If you need help someday, drop a line on my talk page.

Welcome, and comment about links[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you have contributed to many of our fish articles, so I would like to invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Fishes. Its purpose is simply to help organize our fish articles. Thanks for your contributions!

I also noticed you added external links to a number of articles from http://www.thejump.net/, which appears to be a site you maintain personally. According to the Wikipedia external links guideline, the following types of external links should normally be avoided:

  1. Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article.
  2. Any site that misleads the reader by use of factually inaccurate material or unverifiable research. See Reliable sources.

The information on thejump.net does not appear to contain significant information not already available in the articles. And although I have no reason to believe the material there is "factually inaccurate", it also does not cite its sources and is therefore not considered very reliable. And since it is a site you maintain, it may represent a conflict of interest.

Based on these guidelines, I'm going to remove the links for now. Please let me know by responding here if you have any questions or concerns.

Cheers, and happy editing! --Ginkgo100talk 19:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove if you want to. But I would ask that you at least take a look at the pages linked to because I tried to only add pages that I have on my website that do have something unique or special to offer. For example the tuna link provides the user with a picture of a juvenile tuna which is very rare on the internet.
