PLEASE NOTE: I've created the actual page and included the Summary and Reference information. Feel free to start adding in the other sections until we have it all in. Cshanesimpson (talk) 14:51, 30 March 2014 (UTC) I copied two sections - application and the book editions Olucha77 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 01:00, 31 March 2014 (UTC) Moved over "learning principles" and "critical reception" JaredRPike (talk) 17:11, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To post an image on our page we can use this format.Since we do not have a pic of the book yet, I am using Gee's photo for now - practice.

Learning Principles[edit]

I think that we do need to have a section listing and providing a short description of these, similar to what is listed in the back of the book. I don't think it should come before chapter summaries though. It should have its own section later on. JaredRPike (talk) 15:47, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Plan of Action[edit]

Hi, guys. Do we want to form a plan of attack? There are 15 chapters and 4 of us. Four chapters each? Does anyone have any preference? SilRamos (talk) 20:45, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am willing to do the critical reception section and the application of theory. I do not have a copy of the book, so I would have to track it down in the library again to do chapter summaries. (It took several weeks to get it last semester.) JaredRPike (talk) 15:50, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have a book either, but I saw somewhere the summary of the book - need to find it again. Anyway, I have some references and descriptions of the principles - I can start adding some things. Olucha77 (talk) 00:26, 12 March 2014 (UTC) I found my old notes of the beginning chapters - if no one wants, I can do chapter 1-3 (missing notes from chapter 4).[reply]

I've got a copy of the book and can provide some summaries on chapters if we still want to do this. However, based on our last class it sounds like we should be focusing more on themes. What do you guys think? I'm planning to work on this page tomorrow evening. I can also take an actual picture of the book, since we can't steal one from Google : ) Cshanesimpson (talk) 23:36, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Following Michael's advice, I suppose we should look at reviews and form the summary from them. Yes? I'm pasting links to reviews below to make our work a tiny bit easier.
Game Research
Currents in Electronic Literacy
Lifelong Learning
NACADA
College Composition and Communication
Journal of Literacy and Technology
Reading in the Borderlands
Kaj Sotala
On the Horizon
International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning
Center for Media Literacy

So, I put this page on my watchlist thinking I would receive some sort of notification when something was added. Alas, I received nothing. Christina, I added a bunch of links to help us sort through some reviews and add to the summary. I think we should steer clear of the chapter summaries. So far, I've referenced the first two reviews and the NACADA one. I'm going to keep going until someone stops me. Someone stop me. SilRamos (talk) 00:02, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great job guys! I can continue with the Principles and add some stuff to the application section, hopefully tonightOlucha77 (talk) 01:09, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just finished up the learning principles. We have to move this over to the article space at some point tomorrow. I don't want to do it before others have had a chance to add/edit. I'll have some time tomorrow before class. I can do it then if no one else has done it. Does this sound good? Or would you all like to have this done today? SilRamos (talk) 01:48, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Silvana, you are awesome! I got sabotaged by my little princess again, anyway I will work on application right now. Olucha77 (talk) 18:52, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Finally starting to look a little more like a page! I don't like the way we've listed all of the learning principles. Perhaps we could group these by some themes? It might make the page a little more user-friendly. Any thoughts? Cshanesimpson (talk) 20:03, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cshanesimpson ,JaredRPike , and Olucha77 , we need to move all of this to the article space and then edit it somewhat to ensure all our names are on there. When is a good time for everyone? I could do it now (Tuesday, around 2:30) or we could wait until tonight. I'll be home around 8. Let me know what works for everyone. We could use grouping the learning principles by themes as one of our edits. SilRamos (talk) 18:20, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I see it's already up. 198.83.30.209 (talk) 19:26, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Critical Reception[edit]

Should we mention the Keramidas' article in this section? (It is not really a critical reception), or in a new section (or not at all?) Olucha77 (talk) 00:52, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think Keramidas' article goes in the Application section. It's not reception but uses and builds on to the theory. JaredRPike (talk) 17:47, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am working on the Critical Reception portion. Many thanks to SilRamos for posting all those links. I am sorting through them and summarizing the critical response. I should have something drafted and up soon. Unfortunately being sick for most of last week and delayed a good bit of my work. Working hard to try to catch up.JaredRPike (talk) 19:28, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I got a short paragraph up. I will add to it when I get a chance. Feel free to contribute or edit.JaredRPike (talk) 19:55, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
