http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ports - looking at that it is suggesting that for the last two years the ports project has been in part process absorbed by the transport project. If you are keen you might want to try to lobby for a suspension of the merge into the less interesting transport project moniker if you are able to expand the ports stable so to speak.
