WiFi (wī'fī') is not pronounced warfar...And my edit is not vandalism. Please correct this or allow me to do so.

  • The reference you changed gives the pronunciation in the International Phonetic Alphabet, as you will see if you click on it, and says that the pronunciation is to rhyme with "high-high". Please don't change it again. JohnCD (talk) 19:15, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But that is not how it is pronounced. It is pronounced "W(eye)-F(eye)". The IPA is wrong in my opinion because nobody I know pronounces it "High-High".
  • It rhymes with high-high, that is, the vowel in each syllable is /aɪ/, the same vowel as in buy, high, ride, write. And that's the same vowel as "eye", so I don't think we disagree, do we, actually? JohnCD (talk) 20:07, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. I think we have come full circle. I have been doing some reading on IPA and actually found what you said above. It may have been my lack of understanding the IPA standards. Issue Resolved
