Sky 2 (1996/7 channel) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Sky 2 (1996/7 channel), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your recent edits[edit]

Hi. My name's Tamzin. I've just reverted a few of your recent edits, and nominated a few of the redirects you created for deletion (one of which has already been deleted). I see others have done the same, so I thought I'd take a moment to explain what's going on, in hopes that we can avoid more of this.

  • You added Category: Internet memes introduced in [Year] to a few articles. However, this category should only be added to articles about memes, not articles about things that may have been the subjects of memes. Otherwise thousands of articles, including those on basically every politician and celebrity, would go in those categories.
  • You created several redirects about what seem to be obscure hashtags. I would encourage you to read WP:REDIRECT, specificially the sections on what redirects are for and when we delete redirects, before creating any further redirects. Fundamentally, the goal of a redirect should be to assist readers who are looking for articles, and editors who are linking to them. A good rule of thumb is, if a redirect's name isn't mentioned at its target article, and it doesn't have an obvious connection like being a typo or an alternate form of the same word, it probably shouldn't exist. In the list of deletion reasons, please pay special attention to #4 ("self-promotion"; see below), #5 ("makes no sense"), and #3 ("offensive or abusive", regarding your Peppa redirect).
  • I note also that at least two of your redirects have concerned a DeviantArt artist named BlakeIsHere/BlakeTehGreat. I won't speculate on your relationship with this person, but I would encourage you to read our policy on promotional editing and our guideline on conflicts of interest. Please note that if you are being paid to edit Wikipedia, you are required by Wikipedia's terms of use to disclose this.
  • Finally, I notice that on your userpage you say you intend to "make fictional subpages to this userpage", and that you have already done so once. Please take a look at our policy on using Wikipedia as a web host.

I know that's a lot, but I really do hope that you take the time to read what I've said and think about it before making future edits in this vein. Otherwise, I worry that you'll find yourself getting into trouble with our admins here, and I'd much rather see you become a productive editor. Please let me know if you have any questions; you can respond either here (ping me for maximum response time) or on my talk page. All the best. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 21:13, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
