lamb chop[edit]

I came across vandalism in the "lamb chop" (Shari Lewis) page, namely the addition of a "mecha chop" section and photo. I don't have a wiki account (yet), so can you fix it, as it looks like you've done before? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.73.143.26 (talk) 22:21, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UAA Reporting[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to find inappropriate usernames to report to WP:UAA. However, I'd like to remind you that that noticeboard is for names that are blatant violations of policy and need to be immediately blocked, not names that violate slightly or simply meet one of the examples given in the policy. In such cases, if you are genuinely concerned about the name, you should consider talking to the user about it. Using the template {{uw-username}} is one way to do this. If discussion doesn't alleviate your concerns or lead to a suitable response, you can then bring the name to WP:RFCN.

I particularly wanted to mention the name "Siddiquimohammedsaad". This is, by fairly quick inspection, simply an arabic name without spaces or CamelCase. This makes it somewhat hard to read, but it certainly doesn't qualify as "confusing", which is the aspect of policy you appeared to be reporting it under.

I hope this has helped clarify the process for you. SamBC(talk) 20:18, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HarveyCarter sockpuppet[edit]

Hi. In the past I reported new instances of the HarveyCarter sockpuppet to you for blocking. I thought I received a note saying I should just add the new ID to the list on the HarveyCarter sockpuppet page, but that doesn't seem to be resulting in anything with the newest ID. Maybe I'm remembering the instructions wrong, and I can't find them now. At any rate, he's back, spewing the same John Wayne-hating (identical) quotes, now under the name JJuliech. I'm sorry to put this here but I seem unable to recall precisely what I should do most quickly to have this problem poster blocked. (I think he's up to 28 IDs now.) Thanks. This Arbitration case has now closed, and the final decision is available at the above link. Whereas Eyrian has engaged in abusive sock puppetry in an apparent attempt to game the system, and failed to offer any reasonable explanation for his actions, his Administrator privileges are revoked (and may only be restored through appeal to the Arbitration Committee), and is banned from Wikipedia until he provides satisfactory explanation regarding this matter.

For the Arbitration Committee,

Deletion campaign by 76.176.167.130[edit]

An editor identifiable only by 76.176.167.130 has been on a campaign to remove material he apparently finds personally offensive or discomfiting from a number of articles. He has deleted entire sections (and removed any citations which might support those sections) dealing with quite legitimate topics regarding the sexual orientation or sobriety of various celebrities, in particular Randolph Scott, Katharine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, and Cary Grant. Although I myself am rampantly opposed to gossip and to the increasingly frequent "outing" of anyone and everyone that seems to be de rigeur in some circles, I believe that the material relating to sexual orientation may well have a legitimate place in these articles, especially as cited and most currently expressed. Therefore, the wholesale deletion of anything which in some fan's eyes "denigrates" the subject is in direct contravention of Wikipedia's stated purposes. I have reverted a couple of times, but see an edit war brewing. Is there a means of preventing this activity when the editor, 76.176.167.130, is not a registered editor? New HarveyCarter sockpuppet, with a twist[edit]

Another sockpuppet of HarveyCarter has arisen, without a Username, editing many of the same items with exact or near-exact phrasing. He uses 172.142.186.188. I've reverted a number of his edits, but am not sure how to address the absence of a Username in getting him blocked. Monkeyzpop (talk) 21:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And today he returns, as 172.209.8.246 Monkeyzpop (talk) 20:51, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He has returned with a username today, 4 January 2007: HaroldHakindson is his new one, as of today. Monkeyzpop (talk) 04:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And a glance at his contributions page suggests that he's now using popups to revert anything and everything submitted by one of his presumed "enemies". This could get nasty. Monkeyzpop (talk) 04:05, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppets of User: 767-249ER-[edit]

Dear User,

I am 767-249ER and I am telling you that your mission to bar me out of this website has only begun. I have created many accounts on here already and you will never find them as I use many differant computers to do my work.

As a word of advice, I would check the report of "Sockpuppets of Okayama". It will be an interesting read for people like you who don't have a life outside Wikipedia.

Re: Removing user from WP:AIAV[edit]

WP:NLT says that such incidents should be reported to WP:AN/I, not WP:AIV. AIV is for simple, obvious vandalism; legal threats require more complex attention and possibly discussion, and so belong at AN/I. Cheers, Waggers (talk) 22:19, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
