A tag has been placed on File:B2ST beast elle girl.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Beast pictures.[edit]

Hello.  :)

I didn't mean to offend you in any way. It's just that your pictures violate Wikipedia's image policies (see #12). Generally speaking, for living people (so this musical group is included), the image has to be free of all copyright. So album covers, promotional photos, and news images are not allowed for use in infoboxes. Album covers, for example, can only be used on album pages.

So, in other words, the only picture that would be allowed is one that you took yourself (for example, at a concert or something), and by using that picture, you're waiving any rights to it. Other pictures that may be accepted are those that have been uploaded onto flickr.com, a site that makes users waive their rights to the pictures.

The best guideline for pictures can be found here, so please read it over.

I hope that makes sense. If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks! SKS (talk) 17:31, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Beast[edit]

I notice that you've taken my user templates :D

anyways...

The problem with pictures about bands is that copyrights are really picky. It is more than likely that any excerpt from a magazine or website about the group will be instantly deleted. Hence the best course of action is to upload a picture of your own of the boys. Personally, I can't really do that. If you have a picture of your own, then you can upload that picture under the fact that you are the owner or the image. Then, no matter of copyright infringement will affect the image.
Maybe the best choice is to forget about getting a picture and work on the article itself like their career history, etc...

I hope that cleared a few things :D NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 21:45, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Beast Is The B2ST.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Beast Is The B2ST.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Beast (South Korean band), but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. Nothing on the official website states what you are adding. Unless you can find a next source that supports your claim then add it if not leave it be. MS (Talk|Contributions) 07:09, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

okays, i guess i got the rough idea to it but shinee`s sources seems to be lacking too... i check their source , its this link right http://shinee.iple.com/ ? but the link is broken , as such its lacking of information or to say its no longer considered a source right no? I would ask my friends to give me information as reguards to members information if there is else, i will neglect it, like what you said (: Nicky456 (talk) 07:26, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not the birthdays. The sources support that. It is the text that the source does not support. About Shinee, the links need to be updated. They changed their web page from iple.com to smtown.com. MS (Talk|Contributions) 07:48, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay so what should i do to add in those member birthdays or so? okay im slightly getting you, if you mentioned that smtown has got shinee roles and such, im slightly understand it, as for gikwang , he does has a profile before, im gonna edit tommorow or later when im less lethargic, so I need not create a member section under beast, but as for the other members, just leave it? or? and the korean names , its given in the official website right? why cant I add it in into the wiki for beast? Re: whats the meaning to dance career , history and such?[edit]

Wikipedia takes some practice to perfect, but I'm sure you'll get a hang of it. Plus, thanks for editing the 'Beast' article, since its got a lot of sources now :D I think the fact that you feel the 'Beast' article is mainly done by you, may fall under the lines of WP:OWN, which could get you in trouble. This means that you may claim ownership of these articles and you might revert any other edits by other edits by just restoring your copy. This could be done by copy and pasting 'your' Beast article from a Word document (Which you've told me you've got) to Wiki. I'm not accusing you or anything, but just a heads up, since that behaviour is looked down upon.
Discography sections are not needed if the group has got only one release, so the 'Beast' article does not need a discography section, unless they release more albums, Eps,....
Wikipedia doesn't really care if a show is in download format or on Youtube, a show really exists if it has a news article on it. So, if you mention a show, back it up with a source (reference) from an article, then the info will be kept. The career section that you put up, is good enough since they've only just debuted, so not much can be written.
A dance style section can't really be written about 'Beast' since they haven't really got a unique dance style, like 2PM has B-Boy techniques, acrobatics,...

If you've got any other questions just ask :D NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 10:08, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Newsen is a pretty reliable source so I would say that it would be okay to reference this. If you're going to add on this info. You could, instead of making a members section, put it under a 'Pre debut' sub section in the History section. It would then be less likely to fall under trivia. Since, groups like Big Bang & TVXQ don't even have a members section. Also, a better example of a members section would be to look at the 'Shinee' article, since it has a totally different format. G Dragon's message to Beast? What exactly do you mean?
Regarding the behind scenes thing, it falls under WP:TRIV, which is mainly trivia, plus the fact that it exists doesn't grant an instant addition to the Wiki article. Many fans of Beast would be interested in that, but If i were to come across the page, not knowing who Beast is, it would be classed as something very trivial. NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 11:05, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, you can use that news article as a source for the live debut claim. You can change it from television to live (my mistake :D). I don't mind long messages, as long as you're starting to get a hang of Wikipedia its okay. NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 11:45, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is considered trivial as it has no effect on the groups career. You've put the news article in the right place. Regarding "DanBI", i only fixed grammar according to what was there, so it might not have been clear to start with. NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 12:00, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well let me make this clear, you cannot ask me to leave something alone since this article is not yours instead it is everyone's. Another thing is that you just cannot copy out word to word from a news article into an encyclopaedia, since matters of copyright will arise, etc... In addition the tone in which you 'wrote' was totally inappropriate, "known for great UCC videos before his debut", that quote is not neutral, you may consider the UCC videos to be great, but someone else might find it lame, hence it has to be neutral, so I just wrote he "was known for his UCC videos". Plus on the matter of the rapper being trusted with his rap, what does it matter? Lots of other artists make their own raps. What make's it so special for a mention that he writes his own raps? Just cos a news article mentions it, doesn't mean its an instant grant to entry. :/
NPeeerbvsesz (Push) 09:46, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've never edited the named article, but looking at the article, there is no reason why it shouldn't be removed, since it hasn't got a source nor does it not fall under fan triv. Please do not look at articles such as Big Bang or 2PM since they are not classified as good articles, so it's best to heed advice from articles such as TVXQ and SHINee, as user MS mentioned before. A tag has been placed on File:Born TO Beast EP.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Re:Reasons for deleting BEAST members section.[edit]

Hi, I removed them because it didn't have any sources. If there were sources then you should put them up on the article. Also remember that Wikipedia is not a fan-site so WP:Fancruft is not aloud. But the main reason why I removed is because this user completely ruined the member's section. Look at it now. The tables are gone and I don't know how to fix it. This user constantly puts senseless Group positions of K-pop articles. That user has been blocked by Wikipedia but keeps on coming back. The user has "j1996" on most of its user names. Please look out for this user and try to revert most of its edits. Have a look at this user's page for more info. User talk:Joker j1993 Bleubeatle (talk) 23:35, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

April 2012[edit]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Beast (South Korean band). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. What you added here is not of any encyclopedic value; it sounds like you're simply repeating what the press release said. Drmies (talk) 04:06, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not add my own comments to whatever I put on b2st wiki. Moreover, I have seldom go editing them this year. I only copy the exert from the given sources after which crediting them, so in what way am i wrong? and why did you even delete the whole endorsement section? i mean you can re-edit them to make them better. But in what position must you delete the whole section off? Sometimes editing wiki do put me off since i take an extra effort to tidy up b2st wiki only for people like you to say im wrong? If I extra put my own comments to it. It will be, for instance, B2ST is called the recycled group by Wang Biho (given reference). I find this a cynical statement given by Wang Biho.

Maybe you can enlighten me :)Nicky456 (talk) 04:48, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've responded at length and in general on my talk page. In brief, here, the source you gave (here is a translation) is simply not reliable: Newsen is not a reliable source by our standards (WP:RS). This is a rehashed press release aimed at promoting the band and the product. The text you added to the article is similar in style, and the grammar needs improvement as well. More in general: endorsements are rarely of encyclopedic value, and if they are not supported by reliable sources then they certainly aren't. Thank you.
