RE: Ye's recording

Hey any reason why the recording date on the Ye is being kept at only May? 070 Shake was quoted in her Rolling Stone interview saying:

And you are just flat wrong that your style is more accurate: that is literally impossible and makes no sense. As @Koavf: said above, Tidal is a questionable source; it is a streaming music service promoting the album; questionable sources include those that are promotional in nature (WP:QUESTIONABLE). Furthermore, the link you provided renders a "page not found" when attempting to access it. And lastly, don't engage in an edit war when specific changes of yours have been disputed by multiple editors, not just at Channel Orange. One editor having a problem plus one other (you) doesn't make it controversial. It's a shame you are not familiar with Tidal as a source and thus you call it questionable. See Ye (album), Astroworld, Beerbongs & Bentleys, Kids See Ghosts (album), K.T.S.E., Testing (album), Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, No One Ever Really Dies, Revival (Eminem album), etc...

It does make it controversial: "If more than two editors are involved..." (WP:RFCBEFORE) The appearance of content at other articles, whether right or wrong, does not justify its use elsewhere. Here, try this album, Everything is Love. When you hover over a track, three dots will appear by the "plus" and "heart" icons; that's the drop down menu. Click the three dots and "Credits" will appear. Click "Credits" and it will list songwriters, producers, composers, musicians, etc. Also, my point is that you are unfamiliar with Tidal which to me seems to be why you wouldn't want to use it. Take for example @Koavf:, who kept trying his best to remove Tidal from Kamikaze which is funny knowing that Eminem's previous album Revival cites Tidal and that's still where we got the credits (fictional liner notes are still cited). My previous point remains, however; other articles are not strong justification for determining what happens in another article. I'm not familiar with the liner notes to Kamikaze. But from the looks of your revision, if the citation is framed for "liner notes," or rather it is citing the liner notes, a link to Tidal is inappropriate there. If the link to Tidal is being used to verify the information, then Tidal should be cited as a reference, not the liner notes. Dan56 (talk) 11:07, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Nice4What evidently believes that we can't cite a book for its own table of contents but need to cite an online bookseller who has a scan of the book. Also, I've explained this many times before but we shouldn't cite a store that is reproducing the original source instead of the original source. Just like how I'm not citing Discogs' scan but the original source (the liner notes). I left in a citation to Tidal until they were available; now that they are there is literally no justification for including a link to a store with incomplete and inaccurate liner notes. I've yet to see a source say they've adapted credits from liner notes, just Spotify/Tidal metadata. Let me know when they come out because otherwise you're just assuming they exist.
