Copyright problem icon Your edit to Iraj Jamshidi has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. — Diannaa (talk) 01:39, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Ngsharif! Your additions to Kish Island have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:07, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You are somewhat correct, but It cannot be that he did not adhere to the original text. I did not mean copyright. However, I try to improve my work. Thank you for your support. Ngsharif (talk) 01:43, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kazem Amoli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.mykeeper.com/profile/KazemAmoli/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nima Masiha moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Nima Masiha, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Accomplished, but meets neither WP:GNG or WP:NPROF.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for October 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gianlorenzo Blengini, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santa Croce. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ngsharif. Thank you for your work on Azoo Plain. User:Hughesdarren, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

In the references it is also spelled Azu plain and Azo plain, do you think this should be in the article or is it a translation error?

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

October 2023[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mirza Reza Qoli Nava'i. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:27, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't show a WP:RS that he was from Amol and had the name "Khan", don't please dont add it. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:28, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your procedure is interesting. You do not have knowledge about the specific issue and instead of accepting the reality. You insist on destruction. Source added. Ngsharif (talk) 23:29, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So much for that. I'm reporting you. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:30, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reporting me?! I can not get your mean. Ngsharif (talk) 23:34, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You want Source, I fulfilled your request. What is your problem now?! Ngsharif (talk) 23:33, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:RS. A random newspaper is not WP:RS. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:35, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why you insist, only what you say is true?!! Please read منشی الممالک, says from the people of Nava. Nava, Mazandaran, simply is a village in the Amol. However, I am the obey of the rules, my friend. thank you Ngsharif (talk) 23:49, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're violating the rules, and I never said what only I say is "true", kindly don't put words in my mouth. That's not WP:RS either, please read the rule. Also, here you go Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/پارسا آملی. HistoryofIran (talk) 23:51, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
it is interesting. Isn't tagging and insulting me a violation of the law?! I called you my friend and you called me a stranger and attributed to an unknown person. I' repeat again that I obey the rules and respect you. Ngsharif (talk) 23:59, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're not making any sense. Anyways, thanks for giving more proof to add to your SPI. HistoryofIran (talk) 00:04, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm DarkAudit. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to City Hotel Amol—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. DarkAudit (talk) 06:28, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and greetings my friend. I do not understand what you mean. You are destroying and deleting translated content. The opening date of the hotel is 1938, not 1972. Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

City Hotel Amol moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to City Hotel Amol. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Annh07 (talk) 07:06, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ngsharif

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username C1K98V, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Vagabond (Iranian TV series), for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|C1K98V}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Copying within Wikipedia[edit]

You did not identify the source of the material in your edit. It appears to be Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. Copying within Wikipedia is acceptable but it must be attributed.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, linking to the source article and adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

While best practices are that attribution should be added to the edit summary at the time the edit is made, the linked article on best practices describes the appropriate steps to add attribution after the fact. I have done so for you this time, but hope you will follow best practices yourself next time.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 13:15, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
