Speedy deletion of Image:RM0708central.png[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:RM0708central.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:RM0708central.png|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I don't agree with your removing my edits. I didn't make any substantive changes, and yet it is gone. My main objection to Wikipedia is that the people here are like "anti-edit Nazis", unless you happen to in the "in-crowd", which makes it difficult for casual users to fully use the system. And many of us don't want to spend the time it takes to learn the arcane methods and details of this site. That means that very often the people who know most about the subject at hand are excluded from being involved. One of the biggest problems with Wikipedia is that too often in the search for knowledge the consensus view is later found to be incorrect, and the nature of the Wikipedia setup is such that it tends to suppress dissident views, many of which may turn out to be correct. Further, the difficulty of learning the Wikipedia system makes it very difficult for someone, even someone intimately familiar with the facts of a particular situation, to correct it without someone immediately reverting the text. It is almost impossible to put an actual fact into the system that will not be altered. With Wikipedia's popularity, the danger that incorrect information will be disseminated has increased, yet it is much more difficult to permanently correct a Wikipedia entry than to correct, for example, a media or web site mention.

Even worse, I tried to post the above criticism on the Wikipedia criticism page and THAT was deleted! The fact that even criticism is not allowed on the criticism page, should concern people, and reminds us too much of Soviet Russia and China, where for the Olympic Games they agreed to have a "protest venue", yet when people showed up to protest, they arrested them and they will go to jail for a year.

Doesn't Wikipedia see that stifling dissent is not good, and that by stifling it you are often stifling the very facts you would want on your pages! I just don't get it. And I wouldn't care, but its very popularity is dangerous, because now it comes up near the top on Google and people will believe it, even if it is wrong. While that is true of other web pages, Wikipedia has a cachet that seems to give it authority. But if it doesn't even allow criticism on the criticism page, what good is it? Where is free speech? Why can there not be alternative views?

Also, I had complained previously that part of the problem is that Wikipedia doesn't label pages as, say, in the scientific arena, or the philosophy arena, etc.

This causes problems because what is true or not true scientifically may be different from what is true philosophically or historically, and if a page is not labeled as such, you can not come to an agreement as to what is fact in that particular arena

Lewis Gordon Pugh[edit]

Just to let you know, the anonymous IP that added all those tags to the Lewis Gordon Pugh article is actually right. I was about to revert too until they left a talk page message and I checked the article out myself. Not sure about the factual stuff (I know nothing about the subject), but it's definitely very fansite-y and lacking references. Pinkadelica (talk) 05:27, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way my edits on WNIR were accurate. I could prove it to you.

Hi. Welcome to the English Wikipedia. I hope you will find our community more welcoming and supportive of new users than I found Wiki ES. If you have any questions about our culture or policies and the implementation thereof, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help. Again, welcome to our project, and happy editing.Die4Dixie (talk) 21:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

I strongly suggest to all of the parties involved to put an end to the fighting and to stop accusations and interacting in heated disputes with each others. In the event that this does not seem possible then ask for the intervention of a mediator (Not me because I am burned out from three previous mediations and I need a rest). Thank You. I gotta take a form to communicate with you[edit]

Podré editarla posterior a mi bloqueo.

Gracias. Chosquitas (talk) 17:49, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Can you help me edit this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_theatrical_film_production_companies to follow the same format as the distributors page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Theatrical_Film_Companies? It is a lot of work and I would appreciate your help.

SPATRA reactivation[edit]

Hello Netito777, I notice that you were involved in the project Wikipedia:Spanish Translation of the Week a few years ago. However I also notice that here has been very little activity since 2007. This is a project I'm particularly interested in and would love to see it revived. I've taken the bold step of identifying an article requiring translation and I'm in the process of inviting collaboration. The article History of Puerta del Sol could really use your help. In addition, I'd welcome any ideas you may have to help revive this project so that there is greater collaboration among ES>EN translators on en.Wikipedia. I'm identifying various contributors from whom the SPATRA project may benefit. If you have any recommendations then feel free to contact them directly or submit there usernames to me via my talkpage. I look forward to your participation. Gratefully - EagerToddler39 (talk) 02:27, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mi IP bloqueada[edit]

Hola Netito777,

Saludos, Austral blizzard (talk) 02:51, 11 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
