A tag has been placed on File:Mark Hass in Oregon State Capitol, 2010.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia policies on neutrality and verifiability[edit]

Hi Nathan, I see you have made a number of edits to Mark Hass. It's great that you're seeking to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Oregon politics! However, your additions have generally not been supported by high quality sources. I would suggest that you read the policies on the neutral point of view and verifiability. For instance, in one case you stated that Mark Hass was known for passing a certain bill, linking to a page on the Oregonian's web site; but that page did not mention Hass being a leader in that law, it only listed his votes alongside all other legislators'. Unfortunately, finding high quality independent sources on local politicians can be very difficult, which is a big part of why most biographies of Oregon legislators are pretty short. Please let me know if you have any questions! You also might want to explore WikiProject Oregon, where you will find others who are interested in this kind of article. -Pete (talk) 04:55, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
