Where to have the reference

I do a bit of editing on the stats for players as part of the Football (soccer) project and one of the things done there is to put the reference up above the table however that is more relevant if they are active. Other idea is to put it against the career total in the table or I have seen it below with just the word "Source"NZFC^(talk)(cont) 00:19, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Which template do editors prefer, what would you have in/out

Color - Yes or no

I can do more with the color part, I also think the code can be cleaned up to make it easier on others but interested in other editors thoughts

Why not get a consensus on what to use, or is there one already?

Tooltip v Hover

So the more I dive into this, the more I wish I didn't... First thought it was a case of either/or, then thought it was a case of needing to be changed to Hover. I now see it is getting merged so will need to change the template to whatever the merged outcome will be as I'm not sure yet if its done back to Template:Tooltip.
