Non-free image usage

Hi Msjraz64. I just wanted to let you know that I commented out File:MIAA (1912-1990) logo.png and File:MIAA previous logo.png from your User:Msjraz64/sandbox3. These are non-free images and they may only be used in article namespace per WP:NFCC#9 (see also WP:UP#Non-free images). You can link to the images if you wish like I have done above, but they should not be displayed. It's a good idea to check the images of any articles you are planning to copy into your user sanboxes before doing so just to see whether they are non-free. Sun Belt Conference Map

Hey Msjraz64. This regards your recent revision of my edit in the "Sun Belt Conference" article. Idaho and New Mexico State are football only participants in the Sun Belt Conference. I noticed that the map was outdated and replaced it with a up-to-date version intended to reflect the semi-recent addition of these programs. While your revision may be justifiable as the original source for the image was Reddit, the image itself was accurate. @Kingpin1000: As for the image, I truly liked it but it has multiple issues. It has copyright violations that do not allow it to be used, wiki uses a standard template for conference maps so no images need to be found and uploaded. The rumor that I referred to was the map showing James Madison and Liberty as current members for 2015-16 (there is slim to no chance either will ever be invited to join), and includes Missouri State (there is a lot of support for them to join); the inclusion of those three schools as current members on the map made it inaccurate. The Sun Belt does not use divisions (it is not yet known what divisions will be used when Coastal Carolina joins), and conference maps on wikipedia do not include affiliate members of any sport. The map you replaced is absolutely correct and current with wiki's polices and practices and is not misleading. I have known of the Sun Belt since it began and am a fan of two current members since long before they joined the Sun Belt. I know that Idaho and New Mexico State have been football affiliates for two seasons now, Idaho's second SBC affiliation with NMSU previously being an SBC full member. All editors have had revisions undone so continue to be bold when editing, we're all just trying to be accurate. Msjraz64 (talk) 08:53, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I see you frequently edit the List of NAIA Institutions page. I would like to help you by supplying accurate information. I am the person at the NAIA that tracks this information and knows when and how it changes. There will be official changes in the next few weeks that will need to be made on this page. @JEMcCollum: Yes, I was active in updating NAIA pages. I was working on the updates in October until I got to the Mid-South page and their long list of new sports and affiliates started taking to long. I took my time to think about it and, yes, would like to return to updating NAIA; although, NCAA D2 is my priority (I'm from Arkansas Tech). With the advanced notice you can provide will make it easier to coordinate needed updates. I compile information year-round to prepare either immediate or periodical (depending on the case) updates for D2, there are nearly 100 changes with some becoming effective July 1 and others on September 1 for the 2016-17 year. I created the "NAIA updates" section at the top of my talk page where info and sources can be posted; it's more likely that I will see it posted here than by email. I prefer the source to be from the conference or the school website since it will be cited in the update. This could work well for us both, I will stay busy and you can make sure correct information is posted without the possibility of being blocked for a conflict of interest. I try to be as factual as possible with the only exception being the "Future institutions" section, which you edited, where possible rumors may be included. I'll admit to adding Grace University to the list based on reading the NAIA message board on Victory Sports Network. I will be completing the D2 updates on June 3-5 and then can work the NAIA corrections and updates through the rest of the summer. Msjraz64 (talk) 19:54, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Template:Colorbox

The consensus from the discussion was to merge to Template:Colorbox, meaning "Color box" should be subbed for and "colorbox" is the template that will be used. Msjraz64 (talk) 06:03, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

MWC section

Why did you undo my changes to the MWC National championships section? Paulmec (talk)

@Paulmec:, for the same reason I undid identical edits a year ago. You are unnecessarily repeating information (full school name and nickname) from the immediate preceding section, short school name is all that is needed. You are also WP:OVERLINKING, duplicating links again from the immediate preceding section which also includes links to a specific section on the repeated page links. A reader will see the full school name and nickname in the members section and will know this is where to link to learn more about the school or its athletics. A subject needs to be linked only once, twice might be acceptable if it is a long article and there is a large separation between the links. Golden Coast Conference edit

Interested to learn of (or, part of at least) the edit you made to the Golden Coast Conference. I noticed that you changed the information in the article to read as "National Collegiate" division. I've not heard about this as I'm more familiar with the traditional Division I, II, III associated with the NCAA. Can you shed some light here? Thanks, GauchoDude (talk) 18:47, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

The National Collegiate division is for the sports that have combined divisions for a single championship, it's not known very well because it's rarely referred to by that terminology. These sports are: Men's Water Polo, Skiing, Rifle, Women's Ice Hockey, Fencing, Bowling, Men's Gymnastics, Women's Gymnastics, Beach Volleyball, Women's Water Polo, and Men's Volleyball. D-III has their own championships for Women's Ice Hockey and Men's Volleyball and D-NC includes D-I and D-II schools in those two sports. To call these sports D-I is correct but they are D-NC officially. Now that I think about it, Men's Ice Hockey should be a D-NC sport but I guess it was just not changed when the D-II Men's Ice Hockey championships was dropped and the D-II schools were moved to D-I with D-III also having its own championship. NCAA Division II navboxes

Hi! I have a couple of questions for you: my first question is why are you replacing {{colored link}} with its redirect link {{coloredlink}}? It makes no sense and we should bypass the redirect. My second question is why are you removing the automatic color templates from the navboxes? They've been put there for a reason – consistency and accuracy. The ones with the automatic color templates have brand guides out, which is why they've been switched to automatic colors.
