Sure. The templates to be untranscluded are Template:20 Largest Airlines by Fleet Size as of December 20, 2006, and Template:Month disambig. The noms are found on the main TfD page under the December 20th and 18th subsectyions, respectively. You can close the noms if you want, or let me do it once the templates are orphaned, your call. Just the first results page with items under the number headings - "1" through "9". Ohio State University move

I understand that you simply responded to Analogue Kid's request for the move, but the issue was not nearly resolved and the failure to get discussion in the week between Christmas and New Years is unsurprising. The fact that it had been discussed several times before and there was no consensus would lead me to think it should stay. What do I do to open a discussion to return it to its long-time name? Bot question

Would it be permissible to try and tweak the delay in AWB (perhaps to nine seconds) to try and bring the edit count up to six edits per minute? Talhheader

Hi, Mets. Do you remember our previous discussion concerning the {{talkheader}} template here? Well, guess what? It took me a lot of work but I did it. I browsed back through my contributions and tracked those pages and tagged them with {{speedy}} template and they were deleted. They were about 600 edits which means that I have 1200 deleted edits (the old 600 and new 600 which are tagging). Now, I think that I corrected my mistake. I really didn't intend to do any harm. I became very familiar with Wikipedia policies. I started to contribute (nominating and voting) in Afds, Mfd, etc. I even participated in creation of the newly formed WikiProject Egypt in addition to participating in WikiProject Physics. I now fight vandalism using VandalProof and sometimes clean up articles using AWB. So, I guess that I am a better user now. However, I just wanted to let you know that the pages were deleted. Hi - I'll be happy to send you some code - the main pile of code for MartinBotII is a mess - I'm porting it off into seperate sub projects now (all the tasks were in one file, then I realised how bad it really was). I've got the peer review task in a seperate project (and it works), so I'll tidy it up and send it you. If I have one issue with the framework - it's the number of page loads it makes - it logs in before every page fetch, and uses special:Export a lot, which leaves it very prone to Wikipedia errors (502 bad gateway is a frequent one now), so I've started to make my own framework just a class right now for the simpler stuff (page loading, saving, getting categories and finding the creator of a page), which uses Httprequests with shared cookies, so you don't need to log in every time (and uses query api to get page data, rather than special:Export). Regarding Cydebot

I'd just like to let you know that the response I gave here was false (and it's been gnawing on my conscience ever since). The truth was that Cydebot was very insecure, with some possible remote code exploits, so I didn't want to open source the code for that reason. Fully protected userbox question

I have stumbled upon a fully protected userbox that has no more incoming transclusions, and therefore would qualify for a G6 speedy deletion. However, I cannot add the {{db-g6}} tag, nor can I follow the procedures for deleting it under the WP:TfD instructions. Any advice on this matter would be appreciated. I assume you believe that this edit was vandalism because you used rollback to revert it. Just for your information, "cosec" exists as a variant widely used in the UK, so the edit was probably in good faith; if you Google for "cosec x" you'll see a lot of British web sites. Stop icon on MediaWiki:Blockedtext

I disagree with your revert of the icon at MediaWiki:Blockedtext. A better looking icon is no less to-the-point, and just because we want to be blunt, we don't need to look like our graphics were created in the 80s. MetsBot: Erroneous userbox change

Your bot recently edited my userpage in order to migrate a certain userbox as per Userbox Migration. However, it replaced the userbox in question with a completely different and irrelevant userbox: instead of Template:user its (which deals with the homophones its/it's), I now had User:Scepia:iTS (iTunes store). I assume the problem lies in your bot's case insensitivity, despite Wikipedia's page titles being case-sensitive.

Used in hundreds of articles only goes to prove the point. But then it takes a long line of dedicated people jumping through hoops to undo every single dedicated spammer. Spam used to be limited to the External links sections, now it's in templates and all over the body of all sorts of articles. Too bad nobody wants to do anything about it. Special:Wanted pages

Do you know what's going on here? I know that there seemed to be a problem with templates making the numbers wrong. ATSlog page deleted :(((((

I am an author of the ATSLog software. ATSLog is open source non-commercial (GNU) software for the PBX calls logging. I am sure that it is interesting for the *NIX community because there are no free analog of such tool. To tell about atslog i created page on the Wiki. But today i found that you delete this page. Also, deletion comment is very strange "(Blatant advertising)". I think that this is not blatant adverting. My arguments are:

1. There are many articles like my, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterisk_PBX . I used them as template for my page. I see no reason why such pages still exists and my page - not.

2. This page has no any adverting information - only feature description and web site location.

3. This tool is 100% free (GPL) free-time project. I have no even any banners or donations on my site. I did this software as my hobbie. And i know that many users use this tool. And i don`t know any other freeware solutions for this task.I hosted on a free developers portal berlios.de.

Thats very strange for me that this page was deleted, even without detail explanation of the reasons. I can change web page to meet wikipedia standarts, but i don`t know what i need to do. I`ll be very glad if you could explain me deletion reasons and steps to recreate article. My email is samm@os2.kiev.ua.

Userpage design - a request

Hi Mets! Haven't seen you around my watchlist for a while, but I've seen your bot :p

I have a bit of a problem with a couple of pages in my userspace and I was hoping that you might be able to help me with them - I'm many things, but I'm not a good coder! I'm reasonably partial to the layout of my main userpage, though it's flaws are obvious. The major thing though is that the whole thing collapses into a bit of a mess at lower page widths. The same is equally true of my userbox archive page - at lower page widths, the wiki tables collapse and the text in them becomes unreadable. I'd be happy to accept a full re-design if you feel like it - I'd be very greatful. However, if you could just help me out with the width issues I would appreciate it equally. Polar coordinates

I'm indifferent between "formulas" and "formulae"; the general usage trend is toward English forms of plurals, but I see that formula lists the Latin plural first. Maybe Wikiproject:Mathematics had a guideline on this; if they do, you can follow it; if not, as the principal author, make your choice.

Argan bargain

I see that you removed the speedy tag from this page, so I'll ask you reconsider. I added a link to argan on the page and it seems to me that, given what argan means, the definition is suspect. It's an African plant and therefore the explanation of the source of the phrase makes very little sense. It's your call, but I think the whole thing is an invention. • Generally "suspected hoax" calls for an AfD not a speedy, because in the past a few things someone suspected as a hoax have turned out to be genuine. This one appears to be pretty dubious, though, and the fact that the user who contributed the article has this as his or her only contribution to Wikipedia is never a good sign. To the extent there is any truth to the article's assertion that "argan bargain" is used in comedy shows, it may be a variant of the British "argie-bargie" meaning a fight or argument, a term probably best known to Americans as the title of the Argybargy album by Squeeze. Convergence threading

Hello: My name is Ayla Anderson, a post grad student studying terrorism. My work involves collecting and researching methods used in the business world and determining their effectiveness in counterterrorism. Business methods such as process flow, environmental mapping, anticipatory thinking, scenario and also convergence. It is my recent entry to Wikipedia titled Convergence threading that was, prior to completion, deleted. I was wondering two things: 1. the content posted, is it available so you can email it to me?; 2. in explaining what CT is, I felt compelled to note the originating author or company responsible for its creation.

I understand that at first view it would appear to be a blatant advertisement; however this was not my intention whatsoever. Rather I had yet to finish the entry and needed to run out for a meeting at school. When I came back to work on it, it was gone.

I would like to complete the working entry in near totality and forward it to you prior to entering it. I will of course rewrite it to ensure it doesn’t appear to be an ad, instead a compellation of tools and techniques used in developing counterterrorist strategies. Please email the contents of the upload (if possible) to me at cielnet@netzero,com. I failed to save the draft I had and was actually working live, which was my fault and misstep. Such a rather stupid act will not be repeated.

We believe (my team) that creating such a database of terminology of techniques and tools is very useful to other people studying terrorism as well as the government agencies focused on counter and anti terrorism. G2 is one of many to be noted as originators. I hope you will change your mind and let me try again to do a better job.

I do not see how the two are alike, mine uses the fact that two equal numbers with the same equation applied to them have the same result. His uses one particular equation to show .999...=1 The only similarity I see is the variables.

Fundamentally, your proof is very similar, although it is executed differently. The main problem with your proof, however, is that it pre-assumes that 0.999... =1 to prove that 0.999... =1, which is circular reasoning. —Mets501 (talk) 03:50, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

However if I had assumed that 3=1 then it would have come out with different answers. In my proof I did not have to state that only use the to numbers.

That logic is flawed; I will give an example. Suppose I'm proving that 1+1=2:

Assume $1+1=2\,$

$\therefore 2=2\,$ because $1+1=2\,$

Can you see now why the logic is flawed? Sure, if I had assumed 1+1=3 I would have gotten a different answer, but the above does not constitute a good proof. —Mets501 (talk) 03:56, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

If I had not pre-assumed anything just chosen different numbers how would it be flawed? I see your point, but it stating .999 and 1 given the same equation produce the same thing I do not need to assume anything.

Substituting templates

I see that you used AWB to change many articles, to replace all instances of {{fc|Mytown}} with [[Mytown F.C.|Mytown]]. Why is this? The {{fc|Mytown}} technique is very neat and saves a lot of typing, so presumably there must be a good reason not to use it? --Concrete Cowboy 13:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Two questions

First, about the XfD process. It it worthwhile to chime in and weigh the validity of the nominator's claim based on Wikipedia policy to determine if the article(s) up for deletion should be deleted if there are already a good number of editors leaning one way or the other? I mean, some of the articles in question I could read over and either agree or disagree with, but I am hesitant in some of the older nominations to add due to the length even though the wording would be original, the core reason to delete might be the same (ie, 10 editors citing a specific policy/guideline that it fails, WEB for example, and then adding another that says essentially the same thing).

Second, regarding WP:N. More often than not I can tell if a subject is lacking notability, and I try to distance myself to not let my own ideas influence the decision (same thing I do on all of Wikipedia). However, according to the core notability guideline, a topic is notable if it is the subject of multiple, non-trivial, independent, reliable published works. To use an example, I weighed in on an AfD on Ergophobia, and was not able to find multiple and/or non-trivial sources with which to verify the notability. Another editor said (copying here for simplicity):

Notable here means WP:N "worthy of being noted" or "attracting notice". It is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance". Therfore it is immaterial if it is on google or not.

And I am not trying to dispute that. However, according to WP:N it needs to have sources, and since I could not find any, I !voted to revert it to a redirect.
