article "stub"[edit]

My new article (which was modified by an Administrator) at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Oakes_Preston is reflected as a "stub". How/when is this moved to Article status? Mel 04:32, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs are considered real articles when they provide more than just a brief description of the subject. You can read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Perfect_stub_article for more information about stubs.   • Exactly. Stubs are simply short articles. Stub status simply means that more could be said about the subject. Rachel Oakes Preston is just as much an article as any other article on wikipedia. Although on second thought the article is probably too large to still be considered a stub. I'll look into it. Anyway, welcome to wikipedia. Copyright violation on Weimar Institute[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Nathaniel Thayer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston[edit]

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).
