February 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Wassabi Collective, from its old location at User:Meehowski/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. UnitedStatesian (talk) 23:08, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bearcat, thank you for taking the time to review my submission and for your valuable input. Gisto will continue to produce music and make head lines and hit the charts and as such, is it possible to leave his page as a draft for future reference? and if so, what is the appropriate way to do that.

And 2nd, are there any other methods/options that Gisto's name can be listed in Wikipedia in any category even though he doesn't, at this time, qualify for NMUSIC recognition? Can he be listed as a "Stub" or something like that? Or should I include his colaborative contributions with musicians that alread have a wikipedia page, ie: Gyptian, Sizzla, and Capleton, Mishka (musician). Thank you for your advice. Meehowski (talk) 15:10, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Meehowski[reply]

"Stub" status is solely about how long the article is or isn't, and does not exempt a person from still having to have a notability claim that would pass NMUSIC. He still has to pass the same base notability tests to get any article at all, and after that any "stub" tags just differentiate short articles that need to be further expanded from longer ones — but stub tags are not an alternative path around notability criteria. Bearcat, thank you for taking the time to clarify once more. It is much appreciated. Meehowski (talk) 23:22, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Meehowski[reply]
Firstly, NMUSIC #6 is about being a member of independently notable bands, not being "featured with the following prominant and notable musicians in his albums and videos".
Secondly, NMUSIC #12 is not about being an interview guest, speaking about himself in the first person: it is about being the subject that other people are talking about in the third person, such as a documentary. (And you also cannot source the existence of said "broadcast segment" to a YouTube copy of the segment — YouTube is not the holder of the copyright on the broadcast, and we're not allowed to link to copyright violations. Essentially, you can never reference anything to a YouTube URL for any reason whatsoever: original YouTube content is always unreliable sourcing, and copied YouTube content is almost always copyright-violating, so there's never any valid reason to cite any content on YouTube as referencing for anything.)
Thirdly, even if a person does pass one or more NMUSIC criteria, the article still has to be based on a WP:GNG-worthy volume of reliable source coverage about him — there is no notability claim that any person can make where just saying it exempts him from actually having to have the correct type of sourcing to support it.
Fourthly, the way the AFC process works is not that you can just keep coming back to me over and over again. If you think you've done enough work on the article to change the equation, you're free to try resubmitting it to the AFC queue so that it can be evaluated by whoever gets around to it — but having reviewed it the first time you submitted it does not mean that I have any obligation to rush in and review it the second time as well. The AFC process does not require me to keep shepherding the article all the way through the process — you're free to resubmit it for another review whenever you think you've done enough work on it, and somebody else will look at it, and that second somebody does not have to be me just because I looked at it the first time. Bearcat, I appreciate your willingness to thoroughly explain the obvious and not so obvious meanings of the rules for Notability criteria. There's a lot to digest for a new comer, and I appreciate all your patience. I will not bother you any more. Thank you. Meehowski (talk) 16:49, 11 April 2021 (UTC)Meehowski.[reply]
