I didn't even realize I had been welcomed by a live person until I heard Jimmy Wales talk at the Long Now Foundation (over audio). Mike Koss 22:50, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments About My Wikipedia Edits[edit]

Hello Mr. Koss. I see that crz has reposted a new version of the Blue Dot article, and that Blue Dot Inc. is indeed a legitimate and notable company. I'm sure it was extremely frustrating having your contribution deleted at first. Please let me just say that many of us volunteer editors at Wikipedia have been fighting unethical spammers and prolific astroturfers for quite some time. Though we try hard to avoid it, occasionally it happens that legitimate and valuable contributors like yourself get caught in the crossfire. For that I sincerely apologize.

If there is anything I can do to help you with the article, such as adding a logo and/or company infobox, please do not hesitate to ask at Talk:Blue Dot. Again, I am sorry for your experience and hope you understand why we are sometimes so aggressive in monitoring new articles on companies. -- Satori Son 17:35, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did notice and appreciate your note. We also are dealing with spammers, porn spammers, etc., so I empathise completely. Your offer is very generous. I've archived the original article at User:mckoss/Blue_Dot_Inc. Feel free to grab the logo and infobox from the archived article. I think it best that I refrain from edits on my own at this point, and to let the article evolve naturally. Mike Koss 17:54, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done, and thanks so much for your understanding. -- Satori Son 18:06, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Mckoss! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 940 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. JJ Allaire - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
