Rugby league

Hi, in the Rugby league article, you deleted the following on the false explanation that it was 'vandalism by rugby union fan'. Despite the changes in rules, rugby league has never replaced rugby union. The two codes coexist with different followings representing distinct cultural interests. This is clearly a WP:NPOV statement, and I have restored it. As such, you need a much better justification for removing it. Please try to be a little more neutral and tolerant yourself. 2010 record attendance

Problem with that statistic is, that while true, it is also rather obscure. NRL's record season attendance still amounts to about 40-50% of AFL's crowd for the season. It's like saying that the NRL now has 48% the crowds of AFL instead of 45% in 2009. The moment someone adds that to your thoroughly referenced claim it will make it seem extroadinarily petty. Do you really want to add it in when the first AFL fan who can be bothered to look up the numbers can make it look silly? --Falcadore (talk) 05:31, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

It will sound considerably better if you just say that Rugby League had a record attendance in 2010 and make no mention of other codes. Apart from anything else you also make it sound like the only sports that can be compared to Rugby League are Union, Soccer and AFL, which is a nonsense. Horse racing gets a higher attendance than League and motor racing is not far behind. Either of them could have a record year too and Netball almost certainly will have a record crowd year this season. --Falcadore (talk) 05:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Since I am trying to maintain quality in this list can I point out a few things.

1. First of all, anything withour a reliable third party sources will be reverted immediately without warning.
2. Can you not replace the table with that Mickey Mouse list with flag entries headed by a bullet point and what were you trying to achieve by replacing it.

Your obsession with Rugby League

Look, liking a sport is great. Trying to prove that it's better than another with trivial observations only makes it look trivial itself.

Your attempt to score points with attendance at SOE is misguided. DO read the reference carefully. It says "The 2010...State of Origin series was the most viewed ever across the five capital cities." That does NOT compare SOE with any other event. It compares it with other SOEs. I had already mentioned in my Edit summary that you had this wrong, but you kept adding it. Did you not think to look? I did!

Because you kept re-adding that crap, I couldn't be bothered checking all your other stuff. Much of it really is trivial. If equivalent content was added for every other code we would have the biggest load of rubbish in Wikipedia.

From now on I recommend that you discuss your proposed changes before adding. That's how things are meant to work. HiLo48 (talk) 05:26, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I've just put considerable effort into explaining why I reverted. Just as you did with my Edit summaries, you seem to have ignored those reasons. And I didn't mention Australian football. (That's the name of the sport, not AFL. Otherwise we would call your favourite sport NRL.) I'm a fan of soccer too. My basic point is that you're cherry picking to find some area no-one else would consider to try to prove that NRL is better. You also misread a source. Please get it right.
