Thanks for uploading Image:Jayz foto.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Vandalism

Do not be so hasty to blame me. In the Cuba political section I removed some irate notations and replaced them with a reality check, warning that this section has little bearing on practical reality. Cuba

Is there something that can be done to stop the cuban counter-revolutionary? User:205.240.227.15. He has made recent edits which I have not bothered to revert. What to do . . . Well, first of all, if any of his contributions are vandalism and violate NPOV, he will be blocked. We can even block him per 3RR rule. Image copyright problem with Image:Brampton dv0lf.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Brampton dv0lf.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Re: Flagging Users

Jay, We already have a similiar thing set-up in the #wikipedia-en-vandalism room, where we can whitelist and greylist IPs who are persisant vandals or have recently vandalised something, although the flag users deal might work. "Vandalism"

I've recently been accused of some form of vandalism, and these accusations are simply false. I'm sure it's some kind of clerical error, but I'd like to have the issue cleared up or at least better explained to me, because I've literally done nothing wrong. In reverting vandalism en masse, seeing the words " Pain, is worst in the testicles of males" sometimes may cause the vandalism alarm to go off. I apologize if you feel wrongfully accused, but you have to understand that although your edits may be in good faith, users may see it differently. Small editing mistakes like not using editing summaries and so forth may also give you a poor reputation. There is a ton of pages about "wiki-etiquette" and so forth, so before making any more contribs, that may get you blocked, I'd suggest getting a user name, using the edit summaries, and following WP:NPOV and sourcing information. Misunderstanding

It's not that my "edits" are being construed wrong, it's that I'm not editing anything at all. I can't imagine how someone could "pose" as me when I've not a username, but I haven't done any of the things attributed to my IP. I'm still essentially in the dark about the whole issue, but as long as I'm not being accused I don't suppose I mind.

I do have a Wikipedia account, and I have been using Wikipedia for an extensive amount of time, but some odd cookie restrictions keep me from remaining signed in, so I don't bother. I also never edit articles unless I know what I'm talking about, and I'm nonetheless familiar with the terms of service.

Erm... unfortunately, I would have to say no. There are but three reasons: (1) I am strongly opposed to vote canvassing on RfAs, that is, leaving messages on user talk pages asking users to vote on your RfA. While your RfA hasn't begun yet, it is the inevitable outcome in this situation. You can put a notice on your talk page, add a link to your signature, etc., but please, do not leave messages. (2) You only 10 main-talk-space edits. Yes, I know I shouldn't be so editcountitic (adj form of editcountitis?), but admins should be able to resolve disputes. While your conflict resolution skills are shown by your user-talk-space edits, I'm not convinced. (3) Not enough AfD experience. You've only voted on eight AfD pages.
If you promise not to canvass for votes anymore, show me examples of your conflict-resolution skills, and start to edit AfD more, then yes, I will vote for you.   1. Just check. I've only asked you, as a similar contributor, for feedback, and no one else. I have not reduced myself to canvassing as you have stated. You have made an ill assumption that I will canvass for the vote, if there will be a vote. To my knowledge, I currently have no RfA in progress, and probably won't have one for a while. Even I know that RfA vote grabbing can ruin a good candidate. Sorry for the bother.
  2. Perhaps a quality conflict resolution skill is to avoid long disputes on Talk pages, resulting in my few edits on such Talk pages. In addition, discrediting my dispute resolutions on user pages etc. rather than on Talk pages is, as I like to call it "interioteditcountcategorism": to judge based on edit counts in categories. I apologize if I haven't written 63 paragraphs and rebuttals on the Lost: Season 2 talk page.
  3. Fair enough. But as you debate on AfD's, urgent matters are ignored on WP:AIV; at least half a dozen anon vandals were listed as you were contributing earlier. Nonetheless, I will be sure to increase participation and familiarize myself with the AfD process.
  4. I must ask you this: do cons out number pros? Through my fair deductions, the one point I can see for not having a mop just yet is AfD votes. I'm sorry about my assumption, but I did check your contributions to see if you had canvassed other users, and I just assumed that your would canvass for more votes given an RfA in the near future. As for interioteditcountcategorism, I usually look at talk-space edits simply because user talk-space edits don't mean much. While you have 876 user-talk-space edits, the majority of them are warnings for vandalisms, and it's impossible to sort through 876 edits to see how many of them acutally involve a dispute and resolution, while it's much easier just to look at main talk-space edits. I appreciate your efforts on WP:AIV - in fact, I listed an urgent matter involving at least ten sockpuppets on WP:AN/SOCK a few days ago and, for three days, it remained uninvestigated. Granted, only a few users have checkuser rights and therefore can patrol the suspected socks, but similar backlogs exist on almost all administrator noticeboard pages. So, looking back, I will monitor your contributions and an RfA nomination may come in a month or two. Just out of curiosity, though, what program/IRC feed/something else do you use for RC patrol? As I said above (although I mistyped the link), I use CryptoDerk's Vandal Fighter, a program written in Java that monitors RC. Redundancy as a reason for deletion

I agree it is, although the nearest guideline I've found to support that is Wikipedia:Abundance and redundancy, which seems to address deletion of material from articles, not deletion of whole articles. Schizombie 19:34, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are referring to First Family of the United States, I know, it is rather redundant. I am not saying there shouldn't be an article about the institution, rather, I am saying that the present article, as it stands, should be deleted since it is redundant with already well written, well sourced articles. Per Wikipedia:Abundance and redundancy, quite a bit of information would have to be deleted. Quite a few keep votes, I find, are for the namesake of the article, and emphasize that an article under that title should exist. Please consider this, what i have written is based on fact regarding puerto ricans and is a factual piece about our ancestral heritage. I dont not understand why you have reverted to a previous piece that does not explain how modern Boriquas came to be. This sentance, Some of the Spanish and some slaves inter-married with the Taíno, does not do justice to the contribution of naitive american and african genes in our modern society and if you look at the pieces towards the top of the page (that has been taken from information from a scientific study)you will see that 62% have female Taino ancestary, 30% have female african ancestary and only 8% have female euopean ancestary, this tells me that very few european females travelled to the island and therefore didnt contribute a great deal to our genes. Because of your posistion at wikipedia i will respect any decision you make regarding the changes, however i believe that this site is about increasing knowledge for all and respecting the truth so please consider this before changing peoples contributions to this great site.

Well, first of all, thanks for showing initiative in the project. You may see quite a few RfA thanks and so forth, but those are traditional user thanks. Not to mention, I've only made 3 RfA noms, out of thousands. Nonetheless, from what I've seen so far, I'd suggest waiting a few more months before running for an RfA. You've probably seen oppose votes for Naconkantari, who has made 18000 contributions, the last time I checked. I'm not saying you need as many contributions as that, however, a higher edit count would suit you well. Keep up the anti-vandalism work, and perhaps write a few articles or join a project. Change of user name

I want to change my user name. In case it is not possible, I want to delete my account entirely and sign up again using different user name.

I am also being curious as to why you consider my addition to 'Reddy' was nonsense. When I read the stub,I found some names like 'Raja Bahaddur Venkatram Reddy',and 'Suravaram Pratap Reddy' for which no explanation was given as to their profession of expertise.Also there were some entries like 'Dr. Hanumandla Rajinder Reddy' as famous cardiologist in California. There was one entry for P. Siva Reddy as Eye surgeon, K.Ananta Padmanaba Reddy for Land Lord and Faction Revolt From Kurnool, and Dr. Sundeep "Sunner" Reddy as World's expert on faking the Funk, astrology, and farming. If these people all are outstanding in their respective fields, so is Prof. J.N. Reddy. His webpage is http://ceprofs.tamu.edu/jreddy/ and even a cursory reading of his resume will reveal what an outstanding authority he is in his field.

Alright, these are the basic reasons that I thought Tigershark wasn't ready for adminship. First, he probably has no idea whatsoever on what to do with adminship. He basically said "I'll just do admin-y things" with the powers. That's no biggie by itself, but then there's the issue of how in the world he could have gone so long with so few WP:talk edits. Seriously. What has he been doing in the ten or so months he's been here? SIX edits on wp:talk? Unfortunately, an awful lot of adminship has to deal with policy disputes, and administrators are supposed to be people that we can look up to. Tigershark is completely a novice at this--I don't think he'd disagree with me on that--and I just don't feel that I can trust him. The fact that he hasn't gotten into any conflicts also worries me. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just that combined with the lack of WP:Talk edits, I don't think that this guy knows how to settle disputes. That combined with the lack of a compelling reason to give him the tools made me think "... hmm, ... I don't think so..." As for Tv316, it was more a case of general good feelings about the user and being totally refreshed by his honesty (e.g. "I haven't really made any big edits to an article"). So, I believe that I'll have to stand by my oppose vote, though I do wish your friend the best of luck if he does pass. (By the way, it might be time to archive your talk page.
