I have been attempting to add an infobox to a page I am editing, and when I try to preview my changes all I see is the data I've entered that comprises the infobox - not the actual infobox itself. Do I need to add an infobox template in the article first? If so, how do I do that? Malemseged (talk) 23:02, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I assume for Tsehai Publishers? - go to Template:Infobox publisher and copy the all stuff in the white box - then pate that at the top of the article. Then enter the data (only add after the = signs, do not change the part before the = sign) Ronhjones ^(Talk) 23:17, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Please follow up at Wikipedia:Teahouse#How to add an infobox/infobox template. You can also post your code at User:Malemseged/sandbox if you don't want to save broken code in an article. "add an infobox" and "add an infobox template" generally means the same so I'm not sure what you are asking but I guess your code just has an error. If it's about Tsehai Publishers then you can use Template:Infobox publisher. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:20, 2 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

When I initially attempted to add the infobox, I had followed the exact same instructions Ronhjones just offered. However, I was still having the same issue. I've been trying to determine what kind of error my code might have as PrimeHunter mentioned, but to no avail. I did not realize that's how sandbox works, so that is good to know, C.Fred. Thank you. I am fairly new to wiki editing, but all of your advice has really been helpful. October 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Tsehai Publishers. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! A few others aren't available online, so I couldn't easily check them, but from the titles, I am not at all sure that that they write about Elias in any depth. So out of the first 10 references, there is one good source, one marginal source, and one non-independent source (which could be used for non-controversial information, like date of birth, but shouldn't be the main basis of our article), the other seven are not very useful. Skimming the other sources, they also seem to either not mention Elias in any depth, or to come directly from one of Elias's companies or organizations. If you can write the article mostly from sources like the LA Weekly piece, then it might be acceptable.
