January 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Gims, Amir Haddad, Indila, & Black M, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. These edits have been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You provided no verification (see H:FOOT). Also, the inclusion of the external link, www.maniemusicale.info, in the body violates WP:NOELBODY. Peaceray (talk) 17:48, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am one of the founders of Manie Musicale and can verify the information. It is also verifiable via our website, www.maniemusicale.info. I am unsure what you would need in terms of a citation. Manie Musicale Collaborative is a certified non-profit and we have been featured on several news outlets. I am also unclear why a link to our website is not allowed. Please advise. Thank you. MadameLaReine (talk) 18:23, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not that your website is disallowed. As per WP:NOELBODY, we just do not put external links into the body of an article unless they are part of a citation verifying a statement. For instance, you wrote in the Gims article: Gims has been regularly featured in the educational song competition, "Manie Musicale" and won in 2019 with his song, "La Même".
However, www.maniemusicale.info goes to the home page & that particular page verifies nothing about the claim.
You would be better off using www.maniemusicale.info/2019-voting-page by putting it into a footnote format.
Please see Help:Footnote for help with that. Although you can use the WYSIWYG editor, Wikipedia:VisualEditor, I prefer using citer.toolforge.org. Putting the 2019 voting page into that would yield <ref name="MANIE MUSICALE t858">{{cite web | title=2019 Voting Page | website=MANIE MUSICALE | url=https://www.maniemusicale.info/2019-voting-page | access-date=2024-01-01}}</ref>, which you could then use as a footnote.
