Welcome[edit]

Hello, Lunchmeat30 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! GABgab 02:47, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Larry. I took a look at the Mobile operating system article, and I couldn't figure out which changes you had made. Did you edit while logged out, by mistake? Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:59, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Larry. What can I help you with? Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:50, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am currently working in my sandbox contributing to two articles one is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photo_sharing and I wanted to expand the history section of this article. I added a resource I found from a peer reviewed journal. but I am not able to find more journals to support the section, talking to my instructor in class he said if not I may have to look at improvements in other sections, could you take a look at what I have to see if it could be used. And there is another article has well https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_and_open-source_software where I proposed a change and to add a section, I posted the new section under the talk page of the article. I'm still trying find my way around Wikipedia and exercising the do`s and don'ts, are my portions constructed correctly, is it too little or to much. Any feed back would be appreciated thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking me to review. I can't find the text you want to add, and if you haven't written it yet, I can't really give you feedback. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:15, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback[edit]

Is this the page you want me to look at: User:Lunchmeat30/sandbox? If so, the obvious problems are a lack of citations (which is absolutely necessary) and a lack of links to other articles. Without inline citations it's impossible to asses what you've written, but bear in mind that you're supposed to be reporting on what reliable source say about the topic. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:02, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good other than (1) there shouldn't be spaces before the references, and (2) your very last sentence lacks a supporting citation. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:15, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You should have

There is also a lot of copyediting that needs to do. The example I used above lacks a period after the sentence. Immediately before it, there's a space and then a comma, instead of a comma followed by a space. You need to carefully look over your draft and eliminate typos like that.
