Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Lukeest. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Audi Performance and Racing, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

I hope this is an automated email. If you didn’t have such a low information post, I wouldn’t have had to add so much information. This is a massive company in my area. I live in auburn. I grew up in auburn. I graduated from auburn. Your welcome for the high quality information I added. 96.27.140.38 (talk) 14:53, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You may edit your own posts for spelling, if you wish, by opening the edit window directly instead of using the Reply feature. Your edit was completely unsourced and written in a promotional tone. 331dot (talk) 15:10, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And you’re welcome to get lost. You do not speak for me or my intentions. It was written in an informational tone. Quit screwing up edits for extra points. Weird behavior. I have very high level information. Be a troll somewhere else. I belief griefing wiki threads is against the rules. 96.27.140.38 (talk) 15:21, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm assuming this is you(you aren't logged in). I don't understand your hostility, but we need a source other than your word. That's all I'm saying. Good day. 331dot (talk) 15:23, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I’m sorry, seeing something I spent lots of time contributing to being deleted seemed just as hostile to me. I thought giving details about a company’s history would be beneficial! Apologizes if I came off defensive. I get needing sources, and I have added them accordingly. I will be sure to do so at time of publish next! 96.27.140.38 (talk) 15:41, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

im not promoting anything. wikipedia said to expand the article. i live, grew up, and graduated from Auburn. That was one of the biggest start ups here, ever. I have not promoted anything. i have inputed company history, about the topic of this page. I gave information about the company's ownership. This page incorrectly cited the two founders as the owners. The guys referenced by wikipedia have sold their stakes almost ten years ago when they had to sell to receive funding. The wikipedia page was blatantly inncorrect and wrong. I have take ntime to collect high level public FACTS regarding this company's history and added to the page. It as a stub, i turned it into a full profile. What the heck am i even being accused of promoting??? I havent promoted anything and these blatant lies are very insulting. I have tried to present unbiased facts, and youre trying to restrict free information from curious minds for WHY? No wonder wikipedia is dying. You ask for people to add valuable information, and then continuously vandalize and spam undo it when people try to contribute. You have no right to violate wikipedia rules. I hav enot promoted anything. I was told this is happening because i called two entrepreneurs "visionaries". Which, first of all was cited as in one of my sources. Secondly, anyone who has a dream/vision and builds it from nothing, is a visionary. That word is not "promotional", but yet i removed it to stroke the gatekeeper's ego, because im NOT promoting anything.
I'm simply trying to add public company information and history to this company's page, because I live in this area and it matters to me. My question, is why are you trying to keep this article a stub? You are purposefully making up lies to restrict the flow of knowledge on Wikipedia. Lukeest (talk) 21:42, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This edit reads like a promotional press release more than a series of statements of fact, and reads contrary to WP:NOTPROMO. The added material has a lot of puffery in it and unsourced statements. The word visionary is not the issue when the added material had statements like APR has consistently innovated in the field of engine tuning and ...leading the company through numerous milestones, including the diversification of its product range, strategic partnerships with key industry players, and expansion into new markets globally. His leadership played a pivotal role in establishing APR as a leading name in automotive performance products. While it may not have been your intention to write in a promotional way, the end result is that the text is promotional in nature. The edit warring to restore the text and the unsubstantiated accusation in this section header also contributed to the reason for the block. Concerning the text of your unblock request, I highly suggest you read WP:GAB (including WP:NOTTHEM). - Aoidh (talk) 22:07, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Specifically regarding an email, it sounds like a variation of the scam detailed at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Scam warning, and it might be a good idea to send a copy of the email (including headers) to the email address listed there so that the scammer can be dealt with. - Aoidh (talk) 22:42, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I’m sure the “scammer” who knew obly what your moderators could know, wasn’t the moderator who removed the factual data at the same time. Surely incorrelated. /s 2600:1005:B180:893B:E979:89DC:61AB:D78D (talk) 18:12, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is nothing on that page that is visible or knowable only to administrators, and if you don't send a copy of the email to the email address listed at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Scam warning, nothing can be done about the editor that emailed you. Also while the subject of the email can be changed, emails sent via the "Email this user" feature will have a blurb at the end that says something like This email was sent by user "Example" (<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Example>) on the English Wikipedia to user "Lukeest". I am willing to bet that if you received an email asking for compensation then if you follow that link at the bottom, the user who sent that email is not an administrator. Regardless, I highly suggest you send a copy of that email so that it can be looked into, whoever sent it. You should also only be editing while logged in. - Aoidh (talk) 22:27, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
