Dr.Tahir Ul-Qadri page "Controversies"

Dr Muhammad Tahir Ul Qadri did not make any contradictory statements. The videos used to assume this where edited and placed out of context. the original videos are up on youtube unedited where it is quiet clear that the statement he made did not contradict each other, and this was also explained by Dr Muhammed Thair Ul Qadri to several news anchors. The issue was resolved. so it is incorrect to post that he made contradictory statements rather it should state that it was "thought" that he made contradictory statement on the blasphemy laws but where in fact is was not true and videos where manipulated and not shown under the full context.

hope this shines some light of the actual fact and thats hwy it should be removed from the page. if Require more evidence im sure if you contact the Minhaj group they will provide you with substantial evidence contrary to what is written.

Shortly after, in United States v. Cruikshank (1875), the Supreme Court ruled that the Force Act of 1870 did not give the Federal government power to regulate private actions, but only those by state governments. The result was that as the century went on, African Americans were at the mercy of hostile state governments that refused to intervene against private violence and paramilitary groups.


Whereas the number of indictments across the South was large, the number of cases leading to prosecution and sentencing was relatively small. The overloaded federal courts were not able to meet the demands of trying such a tremendous number of cases, a situation that led to selective pardoning. By late 1873 and 1874, most of the charges against Klansmen were dropped although new cases continued to be prosecuted for several more years. Most of those sentenced had either served their terms or had been pardoned by 1875. 

The Supreme Court of the United States eviscerated the Ku Klux Act in 1876 by ruling that the federal government could no longer prosecute individuals although states would be forced to comply with federal civil rights provisions. Republicans passed a second civil rights act (the Civil Rights Act of 1875) to grant equal access to public facilities and other housing accommodations regardless of race. Ironically, the Klan during this period served to further Northern reconstruction efforts, as Ku Klux violence provided the political climate needed to pass civil rights protections for blacks. Although the Ku Klux Act of 1871 dismantled the first Klan, Southern whites formed other, similar groups that kept blacks away from the polls through intimidation and physical violence. Reconstruction ended with the election of President Rutherford B. Hayes, who suspended the federal military occupation of the South; yet blacks still found themselves without the basic civil liberties that Congressional Republicans had sought to secure.[74]

In 1882, the Supreme Court ruled in United States v. Harris that the Klan Act was partially unconstitutional. It ruled that Congress's power under the Fourteenth Amendment did not extend to the right to regulate against private conspiracies.[75]

Klan costumes, also called "regalia", disappeared by the early 1870s (Wade 1987, p. 109). The fact that the Klan did not exist for decades was shown when Simmons's 1915 recreation of the Klan attracted only two aging "former Reconstruction Klansmen." All other members were new.[76] By 1872, the Klan was broken as an organization.[77] Nonetheless, the goals that the Klan had failed to achieve itself, such as suppressing suffrage for Southern blacks and driving a wedge between poor whites and blacks, were largely accomplished by the 1890s by militant Southern whites. Lynchings of African Americans, far from being ended by the Klan's disintegration, instead peaked in 1892 with 161 deaths.[78]

The second Klan: 1915–1944

Refounding in 1915

In 1915, three separate events acted as catalysts to the revival of the Klan: 

The film The Birth of a Nation was released, mythologising and glorifying the first Klan and their endeavour.
In 1915 Jewish businessman Leo Frank was lynched near Atlanta after the Georgia governor commuted his death sentence to life in prison. Frank had been convicted in 1913 and sentenced to death for the murder of a young white factory worker named Mary Phagan, in a trial marked by media frenzy. Although the conviction was appealed, it was upheld at each appellate level.
The second Ku Klux Klan was founded in 1915 by William J. Simmons at Stone Mountain, outside Atlanta. Its growth was based on a new anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic, prohibitionist and antisemitic agenda, which developed in response to contemporary social tensions. Most of the founders were from a small Atlanta-area organization called the Knights of Mary Phagan, who had organized around Leo Frank's trial. The new organization and chapters adopted regalia featured in The Birth of a Nation.

Movie poster for The Birth of a Nation. It has been widely noted for reviving the Ku Klux Klan. Director D. W. Griffith's The Birth of a Nation glorified the original Klan. His film was based on the book and play The Clansman and the book The Leopard's Spots, both by Thomas Dixon, Jr. Dixon said his purpose was "to revolutionize northern sentiment by a presentation of history that would transform every man in my audience into a good Democrat!" The film created a nationwide Klan craze. At the official premiere in Atlanta, members of the Klan rode up and down the street in front of the theater.[79]

Much of the modern Klan's iconography, including the standardized white costume and the lighted cross, are derived from the film. Its imagery was based on Dixon's romanticized concept of old England and Scotland, as portrayed in the novels and poetry of Sir Walter Scott. The film's influence was enhanced by a purported endorsement by U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, a Southerner. A Hollywood press agent claimed that after seeing the film Wilson said, "It is like writing history with lightning, and my only regret is that it is all so terribly true." Historians doubt he said it.[80] Wilson's remarks generated controversy, and he tried to remain aloof. On April 30, his staff issued a denial. Wilson's aide, Joseph Tumulty, said, "the President was entirely unaware of the nature of the play before it was presented and at no time has expressed his approbation of it."[81]

The new Klan was inaugurated in 1915 by William J. Simmons on top of Stone Mountain. It was a small local organization until 1921. Simmons said he had been inspired by the original Klan's Prescripts, written in 1867 by Confederate veteran George Gordon, but they were never adopted by the first Klan.[82]

Among the "snakes" are various supposed negative attributes of the Church, including superstition, union of church and state, control of public schools, and intolerance The Second Klan saw threats from every direction. A religious tone was present in its activities; "two-thirds of the national Klan lecturers were Protestant ministers," says historian Brian R. Farmer.[83] Much of the Klan's energy went to guarding "the home;" the historian Kathleen Bleeits said its members wanted to protect "the interests of white womanhood."[84] The pamphlet ABC of the Invisible Empire, published in Atlanta by Simmons in 1917, identified the Klan's goals as "to shield the sanctity of the home and the chastity of womanhood; to maintain white supremacy; to teach and faithfully inculcate a high spiritual philosophy through an exalted ritualism; and by a practical devotedness to conserve, protect and maintain the distinctive institutions, rights, privileges, principles and ideals of a pure Americanism."[85]

The second Klan emerged during the nadir of American race relations, but much of its growth was in response to new issues of urbanization, immigration and industrialization. The massive immigration of Catholics and Jews from eastern and southern Europe led to fears among Protestants about the new peoples, and especially about job and social competition. The Great Migration of African Americans to the North stoked job and housing competition and racism by whites in Midwestern and Western industrial cities. The second Klan achieved its greatest political power in Indiana; it was active throughout the South, Midwest, especially Michigan; and in the West, in Colorado and Oregon. The migration of both African Americans and whites from rural areas to Southern and Midwestern cities increased social tensions.

The Klan became most prominent in urbanizing cities with high growth rates between 1910 and 1930, such as Detroit, Memphis, and Dayton in the Upper South and Midwest; and Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston in the South. In Michigan, close to 50% of the Klan members lived in Detroit, where they numbered 40,000; they were concerned about with finite housing possibilities, rapid social change, and competition for jobs with European immigrants and Southerners both black and white.[86] Stanley Horn, a Southern historian sympathetic

  • You're talking about this revision, right? Well, I undid it because the IP replaced all of the information with a statement that the information was wrong. There was no error with the program I used. If there's any wrong information in the article, just remove what's wrong and explain why you did it in your edit summary. Olivia Wilde

Some celebrities change their names to something more memorable or less embarrassing in order to become famous, but not Olivia Wilde. She chose to go by "Wilde" instead of "Cockburn" to honor the writerly tradition of her family, many of whom must have found "Cockburn" unsuitable for public life. I simply wanted to emphasize this point in her article, because as it stands it sounds more like an excuse written by a Public Relations professional than a genuine reason, which it assuredly is.

I Didn't Make A Mistake...

I made an irrefutable, self-evident statement of truth. Flashing brights in a driver's face is assault. If you plan to argue, it means you're pro-murder.

I thought Wikipedia was objective and neutral, but they're silencing the obvious assault of this. It's no different from pushing a pedestrian into traffic. Actually, it is different. Because, when you push a pedestrian into traffic, you're not pushing all the other pedestrians with him. The telescope has the formal name of "Large Millimeter Telescope Alfonso Serrano", in recognition to whom made it happen, and it SHOULD be quoted as such. I know for sure as I am the Director of the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE), actual owner of the telescope.

Could we honor the memory of the person who made this happen until the last day of his life?

Mistaken edit undoing

I see you undid a section of the PHP article that I edited, noting that it "didn't seem constructive" to you. I have to assume, due to the timeliness of your action, that you are a bot, as it would explain the lack of research on your part before blatantly removing the edit I made. Anyway, I believe you made a mistake. I removed a section that falsely identified the term PHP as a recursive backronym. PHP is recursive, as it stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, but it is not a backronym. A backronym is defined as a phrase created by using the letters of a common word as the first letters of each word in the phrase. Because PHP is not a word, it can't be a backronym. It is, however, an initialism, as it uses the first letters of the phrase to create an abbreviation of the phrase that is not pronounced as a word. PHP is a recursive initialism, not a recursive backronym.

I plan to revert your edits to the page, as I view them to be unacceptable and most certainly unconstructive. I expect that, if you are a bot, you will most likely revert mine again, at which point I will not continue to perpetuate the useless fight.

  • Apologies about that. I'm pretty sure that I made the revert by mistake while trying to revert another edit, or something similar, because I definitely didn't intend to revert your edit. In fact, I didn't even realize I accidentally reverted your edit until you wrote this message, because if I did, I would have undid my revert immediately. I did indeed make a mistake, and I don't mind you undoing it. I'm not a bot, for the record. What I use is a tool called Huggle that allows me to do a lot of reverts in a short amount of time. With the kind of tool it is, mistakes are bound to happen occasionally. I try not to make mistakes, and it's rare when I do, but this is just one of those rare cases. I am curious what is going on with 2014 christmas special (Doctor Who) (I am using external link to avoid automatic redirect) and 2014 Christmas special (Doctor Who)? It seems as though one is a redirect to the other, which is empty, so both pages should be requested for deletion. Is this right? π♂101 (talk) 18:43, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

  • What happened was that I moved the page to capitalize the title just as the author blanked it, and I didn't put it up for deletion because I wanted to wait and see if the user was going to work on the article. I wanted to avoid a situation where I put it up for deletion assuming the author wanted it deleted, and have the author add content to the article.
