Hi! I notice you've edited the Irish dance article a few times, and I think I've reverted the changes each time. A long time ago, the Irish dance article was 99% about competition Irish stepdance, which was really a shame, as there are a whole variety of other forms of Irish dance. It's also against Wikipedia's Undue weight policy.

To fix that, I added to Irish dance a bunch of stuff about Irish ceili dance, Irish set dance, and a little about Sean Nos. I then split off the bulk of the detail about competition stepdance into the Irish stepdance article, so that other people who have some knowledge on the subject could expand on the details there. If you'd like to add little details about stepdance costumes and competition structure trivia, please do it at Irish stepdance, where it more properly belongs.

Thank you,

As the Irish dance article currently stands, the stepdance section is still disproportionately large, and further bits of trivia make that worse. If there were no separate stepdance article, I'd have a hard time arguing that more detail was inappropriate, but since the top of the section says "See Irish stepdance", I think it degrades the quality of the article to add detail to the stepdance section when the other sections are so much less well developed. By the way, I am also an Irish dancer. I've been dancing Irish ceili since 1995, and have about 5 years (interrupted) of competition stepdance experience, all as an adult.
