Under Construction Tag

I usually try to be a gatekeeper here and tag it appropriately. It appears you were working on it and did not abandon it :).

You can find all the different tags here. Spryde 15:22, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your tidying up of the above article, it's more than welcome and is definitely 'OK'! It's people making edits like that who contribute a significant portion of Wikipedia's content, so you're not likely to find anyone objecting. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 10:31, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, you're obviously checking this on a daily basis to prevent sabotage of the page, so thank you for that. Would you consider altering the DPM part? Firstly, the sentance does not make sense due to the use of the word "unique". One cannot be unique "along with" other sections, it's a contradiction in terms. Although it's obvious what is meant, if this is supposed to look official (I assume that's why it is being edited) the word should be avoided. It is also incorrect, a lot of other people in the RAF wear DPM full time - Tactical Air Traffic Control and Brize Movers to name two, and I haven't even left the base yet!

Thanks for updating it though.

Hi there,
Thanks for pointing that out! I've had a go at re-jigging it a little bit and have left out the 'others' in DPM (like you say, it's a large minority!)
Let me know what you think!
Cheers

Is seems to me that according to this article the most important aspect of TCW is wearing DPM and 'special' badges. Would the organisation not come across as a far more credible and professional if the text concentrated on their organisation, equipment, history etc, instead of what they wear?
They are only called 'The Wing' within their own trade circles. Many trades in the RAF have so called 'Tactical' branches (and no doubt wear DPM and 'special' badges), which within their particular trade is termed 'The Wing' - TCW are not alone in this by a very long way!
This first few paragraphs of this article need to be far more objective if it is to have any credibility.

Yep, fair one! I was considering removing the 'Wing' bit anyway because, as you rightly say, places like TPW and TSW are also known as 'The Wing' within their trades. Any further help with this article would be massively appreciated. LookingYourBest 13:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Doves as symbols

I removed the war memorial. I kept the other image with a link to the article where I found it.Barbara Shack 15:46, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Brunswick shopping centre

As far as I can tell the official website is still there. The link I removed was to Yorkshire Holidays that didn't appear to have anything that wasnt contained on the official site. Pit-yacker (talk) 17:25, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Request for work

I expanded the Gok Wan article as I regularly read Hadley Freeman's work but I think you could do a better job of expanding the wiki article. There are two press articles in the external links section which could be used. Are you up to the task? Sillyfolkboy (talk) 02:58, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:TCWCrest.gif

Thanks for uploading File:TCWCrest.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:TCWCrest.gif)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:TCWCrest.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 05:16, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Ah, it seems to be lifted now! It said it had something to do with my IP range. No worries, I'll note it down if it ever happens again. Cheers for looking into it though! --LookingYourBest (talk) 20:54, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:90SUCrest.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:90SUCrest.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:16, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
