If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on CorpTrav requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sparthorse (talk) 19:15, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CorpTrav[edit]

Thanks for your note. I searched a newspaper archive and found only a single, passing mention of the company in a press release about Sabre. If the company is truly notable there would be a variety of sources discussing it. All articles on Wikipedia must meet the standards for notability. The relevant one for businesses is WP:ORG. Can you provide verifiable references to establish the notability of this travel company?   Will Beback  talk  20:16, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'd also like to point you to WP:COI, the guideline on conflicts of interest.   Will Beback  talk  20:18, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know our partners and vendors do not publish lists of award recipients in print or online. A list of some of our awards is published here on our website: http://www.corptrav.com/site/about-us/category/awards/. Even this is not all-encompassing because CorpTrav's website is almost 10 years outdated and I am currently working to update it. We also link out to Sabre and GetThere, two other references I placed on our Wikipedia page.
Obviously, we cannot use the CorpTrav website as the sole, or even the principle source for an article about it. Independent secondary sources are needed, like newspapers or magazines. Did you read either of the links I provided above? It'd save us both a lot of time if you'd review those before replying.   Will Beback  talk  20:29, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the policies, which is why I sent you a weblink that has actual photos of the awards and their sources. I can send you more - CorpTrav has dozens. To name a few: Working Woman, Crain's, Dallas Business Journal, the Business Ledger, Business Travel News, TXU, etc. LindsayLawyer (talk) 20:57, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ORG says:
Just being included in a list of "top ten" companies is not sufficient, nor is being named "best travel business" by a local publication. "Significant coverage" means that multiple publications have written profiles of the company, for example. I'd also like to quote from WP:COI:
  • Editing in the interests of public relations (other than obvious corrections) is particularly frowned upon. This includes, but is not limited to, professionals paid to create or edit Wikipedia articles. [..] If you have a financial interest in a topic (either as an employee, owner or other stakeholder) it is advised to provide full disclosure of your connection, and to use the "discussion" pages to suggest changes (using the {{Request edit}} template to request edits) rather than editing articles directly. Requested edits will be subject to the same editorial standards by neutral editors (which means they are not guaranteed to be carried out) and will help avoid situations of advocacy and related problems.
If the company is truly notable then someone outside the company will probably create it.   Will Beback  talk  21:10, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Travel policy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A personal essay with no reliable sources so unverifiable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Travel policy for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Travel policy is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Travel policy until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sparthorse (talk) 19:01, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Colonel Warden/Travel policy, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Colonel Warden/Travel policy and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Colonel Warden/Travel policy during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
