Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Liffernet. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Sheela na gig, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Note: COI declared in edit summary here:[1]. Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Your edits inserted a lot of new text without adding any sourcing, and brought up concerns around the WP:RS, WP:OR, and WP:SYNTH policies.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - CorbieVreccan 20:07, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sheela na gig[edit]

At Sheela na gig you made extensive changes and additions to the article without providing references. Your added content was reverted not because it was suspected of being wrong, but because it was not verified. You can take this up on the Talk page of the editor who reverted your changes. To see who that is, click on the article's View history. Wikipedia expects editors to be bold in making changes, but if reverted, to discuss, either on editors' Talk pages or the article Talk page. Last, adding one's own website to an article is considered self-promotional, and adding one's own photographs to an article would mean giving up copyright. With reference to your user page comment[edit]

You say "The information on this website is entirely under the control of those who can manage it and its arcane procedures, not necessarily with those who possess information". Wikipedia has no interest in what you or I know, it only concerns itself with content that can be supported by reliable published sources. Theroadislong (talk) 14:50, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

November 2021[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Sheela na gig has been reverted.
Your edit here to Sheela na gig was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFUS4_d9TtE) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page.
