suggest campaign as alternative to embassy article AFDs
Hi LibStar (and Stalwart111) -- Libstar, you opened AFD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Embassy of Bulgaria, Chișinău and many others about mini-stub embassy articles, and Stalwart111 has participated in many/most of those. (And about a year ago, if i recall, there were a whole lot of London embassy AFDs, I think involving all 3 of us though i am not checking.) I commented at the Chisinau AFD and at some others that redirecting to bilateral relations articles (or moving/creating such articles if necessary, leaving redirect) would be preferable in my view to deleting the mini-stub. Especially I think the repeated AFDs are wasteful of editor attention. Also User:Stalwart111 has often advocated in favor of merging or redirecting to a list-article listing embassies, or to bilateral relations articles. I do respect your basic view that most/all of the embassy articles you target in AFDs are inadequate. And I respect Stalwart111's views too
How about the three of us work on a campaign to create or develop the list-articles / bilateral relations articles, and skip the AFDs? I think that could be more productive in terms of building wikipedia. It could accomplish the merges/redirects and avoid cost of AFDs to us and to other editors.
Could you possibly agree, and possibly provide direction on how/where best to start? I'd basically be happy to work together in any coordinated way. I am handicapped slightly by having an editing restriction (which perhaps i ought to appeal) that prevents me from starting new articles in mainspace, but I can start articles in Draft space and I can create sections and add to list-articles and so on.

- thanks for your thoughts, if we are going to start creating new bilateral articles I would prefer to do only more notability combinations and not be driven by existing poor stubs that could be deleted if redirected to a new bilateral m for example, someone went on a spree of creating embassies in Moldova and someone else did missions of Tanzania, these are not the most notable. - I would agree to working on the more notable bilateral relations topics first. Is there a list-article with red-links to work on, or could we create one in userspace and work from that? I see there is navigation template {{Foreign relations of Europe}} which has links to a foreign relations article for each country in Europe, including Moldova. There is Category:Bilateral relations of Moldova among about 220 members by country of Category:Bilateral relations. The Moldova category has subcategories, some with a bilateral relations article and some with just some embassies but no bilateral relations article. What is needed? To check each subcategory within each "Bilateral relations of X" category, and build a worklist of apparently-missing bilateral relations articles? --doncram 23:57, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
Please explain why you've nominated the article for deletion. The Foreign relations of Mongolia page also shows that relations between both countries were formed on March 22 2012 even though the link is dead. The link belongs to the Mongolian Foreign Affairs Ministry. If it was edited and put there it means that the relations do exist.

- Speaking of notability: I just saw List of entertainers who have performed at the Mall of Asia, but too late. We are rapidly becoming a collection of lists. You referenced Events at Madison Square Garden, with a comment on "most significant events"--but most of those entries are without a reference, and at any rate it is hard (here), if not impossible, to establish "significant". An analogy with other lists (of "notable people") would be that the event needs its own article, but fighting for something like that is an uphill struggle. Hi, I didn't delete Albanian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia because it's not an article. It's a redirect to Albanian Ambassador to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, which wasn't on the list of articles nominated for deletion. requesting closure for AfDs
No, not really any changes. From the beginning, this page has been meant for unusual requests, generally things that really really need to be closed and really really shouldn't be left for a while. Someone will eventually close an XFD of any sort; the only things that need to be mentioned here are the occasional emergency and the notes from admins saying "I already got most of these; someone else get the rest". See the "Severe backlog at WP:ANRFC" section of WP:AN — the continuous addition of routine requests has overwhelmed this page and gotten in the way of people taking action on things that really do need attention. Indeed, I'm still around, and I appreciate your work on the bilaterals. One suggestion, however: where it's feasible, you should consider redirects. Find obscure bilateral articles that no one cares about, tag them for merger, and a few weeks and no objections later, quietly redirect to "Foreign relations of X". Yes, the potential will still exist that the article is recreated somewhere down the line, but this method avoids a tiresome discussion and a "keep" outcome that solidifies the article's position. - Biruitorul Talk 15:49, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Serious suggestion
I am just popping by to suggest that a lot of the AfD's you are filing would work a lot better- and quieter - as merge discussions. As someone who had a couple of successful AfD's wind up being recreated every couple of years, I found that merging and redirecting often is a better option. Many times, the work - if decent - someone put into a small article can easily be copied over to a list article or something of that sort. The ambassadors in particular seem to be good candidates for this. Also saves other people the work of having to recreate lists from scratch. Some of my frustration with AfD is knowing that it is far easier to tear down than to build up and I hate to see the work of others simply deleted. Montanabw(talk) 19:30, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for writing here, I can´t find a way to send a private message. So my apologies. Anyway, I do not agree on your criteria on keep deleting that information regarding the Santander Airport. What you keep deleting are facts, relevant for those who want information about the airport, plus is part of the modifications done after the last renovation works carried in the terminal. I do not care other airport pages do not have it. What is more, the spanish version of the page has that info. Please if there is a way to keep this discussion private, let me know. I will admit that I had a bad habit of just saving changes and not giving a brief explanation of things. But that it is something in the past and its not something I am doing now. I have no problem adding sources to previous changes if there are sources to use. Though it still doesn't answer why you would revert something back to incorrect information rather than keep what is correct. If you had bothered to check the facts you would have found that the information I put on the Exhibition Stadium page was correct. The page Big Event doesn't even exist on Wikipedia (hence it is in red) which is why I changed it to The Big Event which is what the World Wrestling Federation's event at the venue in August 1986 was called. The rest of the information I put in which you changed back is there in the infobox and the opening paragraph of The Big Event page. You can also find the information on various pro wrestling websites and presumably the WWE's own site.HoldenV8 (talk) 01:24, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
I'm arguing about it because what I changed it to was the correct information and that can be verified by a page that already exists on this site, the very page I changed the link to show. What you changed it back to was incorrect information. I would have thought that you would want the correct information to be used on Wikipedia. The question I ask is why was it changed back to the incorrect information that existed?
Verified or not, I have never knowingly put false information on this web site. If you actually watch the clip provided, the commentator (James Hunt) actually says exactly that, that Piquet was signed by Benetton on a performance based contract. This is also said on Piquet's Wikipedia page in the sub-section "Benetton (1990–91)"
It wasn't a rumour though, it was fact. Benetton signed Piquet on a performance based contract for 1990 that paid him per point scored. Because at the time (the 1989 Italian GP), the specifics of Piquet's Benetton contract were only rumours. Those rumours were later confirmed by Benetton team boss Flavio Briatore and by Piquet himself. But it was at Monza that Piquet confirmed why he was leaving Lotus (intended use of the Lamborghini V12 in 1990 - There is a YouTube video of Piquet at Monza on EuroSport TV that weekend confirming it) and announced he was joining Benetton. I'm not putting in anything that isn't true and I'm sure I can come up with more sources than just YouTube. The two persons are the prize winning film instructor Heiðrik á Heygum who won both Faroese film prizes in 2014 and has earlier won a Nordic film prize also. The other person you wish to be expelled from the English Wikipedia is the Island Games winner, the cyclist Torkil Veyhe. I am just wondering, if you have something against Faroese people? - LibStar nominated the articles for deletion but it is not they who decide whether an article is deleted. It is the consensus of the editors who participate in the AfD discussion as determined by the closing editor or admin. - I know that Liz, and I have also said what I mean in the relevant pages. I have created an article about the Faroese film prize Geytin, but all the recipients have red links except for Heiðrik á Heygum, which Libstar has nominated for deletion. It just seem like there is no point in writing anyting in the English Wikipedia about Faroese artists or sports people, if the articles are deleted because the Faroe Islands is a small nation and because it is a small nation you think that people from there are not notable. How would Heiðrik á Heygum be notable, if he is not notable after winning the Geytin prize and the NUFF prize? Follow up on old withdrawn group AfD
Hi LibStar, A couple years ago you nominated for deletion a group of articles - dubiously notable diplomats - created by a blocked and banned sockpuppet. You withdrew the nomination when evidence turned up that one might actually be notable. It sounds like you intended to relist the others separately, but Amir Hussain Sikder doesn't appear to have been renominated. Are you still of a mind to, or did you see something that made you think he was notable after all?
Only one of the two sources cited actually mentions him, and it's only a reprint of the government press release announcing his appointment. When he was the Bangladeshi ambassador to Russia, he seems to have had concurrent accreditation to several neighboring countries: Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, and Ukraine. Each time he presented his credentials there was a press release from the government involved, but nothing beyond routine coverage, nothing independent. Bob Batty
FYI on information given about Bob Batty.....
- The website Rugby League Project (plus various other websites) and the book "The Sea Eagle Has Landed" both state that Batty came to Manly-Warringah from Murwillumbah. The book also states that he was known as the 'Road Runner'.
- Bob Batty's playing statistics, including his Reserve Grade playing stats, are also cited in the book.
If you had actually bothered to check then you would have found this rather than just adding a 'citation needed'. In fact, other than that under the heading "Death", everything on that page can be found in "The Sea Eagle Has Landed".HoldenV8 (talk) 05:32, 1 January 2016 (UTC)

I did respond. As I have previously told you, when I find the references to the information given in previous articles they will be included. Unfortunately this is often made harder if a website that could have confirmed the information has since shut down or something like the book or magazine that can confirm information isn't currently in my possession.
Now, the question I have for you is why all the 'citation needed' notes when the information can be confirmed with the references already given for the Bob Batty page? Taipei offices
Hi, I'd be prepared to merge Taipei Representative Office in Italy and Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office into Italy–Taiwan relations, but don't want to do so unilaterally as you've labelled it AfD.
I created the Italy–Taiwan relations page (sorry I got the name order wrong, I did wonder) as it seemed better for detailing relations between Italy (Taiwan's fifth largest trading partner in Europe) and Taiwan (the fifth largest economy in Asia) - hardly on a par with 'France-Nauru relations'. :)
There are many de jure embassies which are even less deserving of pages on Wikipedia, like the Embassy of East Timor, London, which, arguably, shouldn't even exist in the first place, and is probably one of the ones that its former President favours being closed down. By contrast, many de facto ones, like the American Institute in Taiwan do merit their own entries.

Hi, As a bit of a random comment regarding your recent AfDs of articles on consuls, you could buttress your case by noting that these positions are generally held by relatively junior and hence low-profile diplomats. There can be a tendency for people to assume that people in charge of diplomatic posts are always highly ranked, when this isn't the case at all. Amy Licence is the author of 12 books and has appeared in 2 TV documentaries. She was considered "notable" enough to be invited back in 2014 to address the school on prize giving day, so would just like to know where this doesn't fit the definition of "notable." Ubiquiti Networks
Hi, although I support keeping the Ubiquiti Networks article (having spent a lot of time on it), I think that some of the other three supporters may possibly be paid, or otherwise have some connection to the company. Ubiquiti has repeatedly engaged in PR editing of the article (adding marketing language, removing negative information), and I wouldn't put it past them to stack the AfD. On the other hand, the users do appear to have large contribution histories, except User:Callsignpink, who only joined on the day of the AfD. I agree that we are never going to agree on many subjects/issues but I accept that there are many articles on diplomats, whom editors believe just because they are a diplomat they are notable. Your deletions
Hi, While I do not mind your email, and if it is you would like something referenced is fine, but perhaps you could contact the author and ask for something to be referenced without simply deleting their work. It is disrespectful. Like I have done on occasion, you also have the option of doing a tiny bit of research yourself, and finding that something is accurate, leave well alone. Not everything needs to be referenced.
Likewise leave open the option that someone might be new to the site and while they have information to offer, may not be yet proficient in the workings of text loading, editing and up loading. If you see something that could be improved or done differently again, offer assistance, rather then just head for the delete button. This could include doing something better, or even adding a reference if you think necessary.

Hello Libstar. Reverting my addition of Thomas Wall to the list of notable people with connections to Sutton, you indicated that having a WP page defines someone as notable. Is this laid down anywhere, or just your opinion? If it is a rule, you must agree that it is a widely ignored one. A quick check showed me that more than half the lists of notables connected to towns, schools or universities contained people in this category. If it's your opinion, I respectfully disagree.
