Sources in biography articles[edit]

Please note that your edit to Cyrine Abdelnour has again been removed as it added personal information that is not supported by a sources meeting the requisite criteria for inclusion. For personal information, including birtdates, to be added they must be supported by reliable independent sources (see WP:DOB). The wordpress website you used is not a viable source as it as self-published website. Per WP:SPS, "Never use self-published sources as third-party sources about living people..." (emphasis original). Also, religious categories are not included in articles unless the religion is supported by reliably sourced article content and it is a defining characteristic of the individual. You can read more about this at WP:BLPCAT and WP:CATDEF. Please keep these important policies in mind when editing biography articles. Thank you, --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:35, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Again, please read what constitutes a reliable source. Celebrity websites and databases often include user-generated and unverified content and do not meet the criteria. Also, you included this source to support the statement that Abdelnour was born in Abadiyeh. I've read the article and see no mention of this fact. Could you please provide the exact sentence in the article that verifies the birth place? Finally, where in the Twitter page you linked to does it verify the birthdate you've included? I've removed the information until you are able to respond to these questions. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:25, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Jezebel's Ponyo: in this source, she mentioned that her hometown is Abadiyeh (هذا عدا خروجنا من قريتي (العبادية) في المتن). On Twitter, 21 of February is written in her biography to the upper left, this is why I included other sources to verify the year of birth. If you don't mind me asking: Can you read Arabic?! LeoHsn (talk) 22:07, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The translation of the source is "I was a child when we moved to stay when my grandmother in Ashrafieh. This is apart we are out of the villages (worship) in the Metn, to a safer place." Is it a poor translation? Also, we need a reliable source for all of the information, not just parts of it. I will partially restore the date, but the fact that she specifically chooses not to include the year in her verified Twitter profile means it is likely that it will be hard to find a reliable source verifying the year in compliance with WP:DOB. I don't read Arabic, though there are some good translators available. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:26, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Jezebel's Ponyo: we went out from the village (worship) in Metn District. It is not (worship), it is the village (Abadiyeh) which has that meaning in English LOL !! Anyway, concerning the year of birth, she mentioned in an interview that she was born in 1977 so all sources report that. LeoHsn (talk) 22:46, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly seemed like an odd sentence, that's why I asked you to clarify. I've restored the birthplace to the article. We will still need a reliable source to include the birth year.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:57, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jezebel's Ponyo: I wonder why you are so strict and interested in Cyrine ?! LeoHsn (talk) 23:23, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's not me who is strict, it's the English Wikipedia's policies regarding living persons that is strict. As an admin I'm supposed to ensure these policies are upheld for all of our biography subjects, not just Cyrine Abdelnour. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:26, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jezebel's Ponyo: is this [1] a reliable source? LeoHsn (talk) 23:46, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No, it is the same as the previous ones you used (celebrity/movie databases). There is long-standing community consensus that such websites do not meet WP:RS (you can read more about the reasons why here, here and here). What is needed is an independent source with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. As I suggested above it would be helpful if you read WP:RS and WP:BLP in order to better understand the types of sources that are required (though I have no problem answering you as well). There is also a noticeboard where you can request information on reliable sources here.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:52, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jezebel's Ponyo: I think this magazine is a reliable source

LeoHsn (talk) 00:42, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could you confirm the translation of "فإنّ سيرين عبد النور من مواليد 1977، ما يعني أنها تبلغ 35 عاماً. لكنّها أكّدت أنّها متصالحة مع نفسها ولا تخجل من الكشف عن عمرها." It appears that the article is about actresses wherein there is controversy about their age. This would be a reason to keep the date out, not put it in per this policy; specifically "people increasingly regard their full names and dates of birth as private. Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object." --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:51, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jezebel's Ponyo: That sentence could be interpreted to "Cyrine Abdelnour was born in 1977, which means that she is 35 years old, she stressed that she is reconciled with herself and not ashamed to reveal her age" ... in the rest of the article, the journalist was discussing other artists' age. That magazine is quite popular in the Middle East and could be considered as a reliable reference, as you know these days even CNN and New York Times are reporting fake news ! So the final decision is up to you but I recommend to keep the edits that I have done already ! By the way, I don't know what to call you Sir or Mrs. as I don't know your gender lol. LeoHsn (talk) 18:26, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The source is fine given the translation you provided. Thank you for your persistence! (On an unrelated note, CNN and The New York Times are not printing "fake news". Someone with a keen interest in having the populace believe such fabrications does not make it so.) Happy editing! --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:26, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit to Prinzzess[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person (Prinzzess), but that you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 03:36, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Maximillien De Lafayette[edit]

@ Jezebel's Ponyo: Do you know why Wikipedia does not have a page for Maximillien De Lafayette?! LeoHsn (talk) 23:44, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure. If he meets the notability criteria for inclusion then you're free to start an article. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:36, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Baltic Sea anomaly[edit]

I've reverted you as the site you used for a source very clearly fails WP:RS. We can't use WP:Fringe websites like that even for coordinates. Sorry about that. Doug Weller talk 21:40, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: Even google is becoming biased regarding reliable news!! it is pathetic that when using google, the first search results are the guardian, huffington post, and other fake news outlets that spread bullshit news and analyses ! no wonder that Wikipedia is following same the shitty road ! Sources in biographies of living persons redux[edit]

User:Ponyo has already warned you about this. Your edits are strictly against policy and if you continue to ignore our policy you are liable to end up being blocked to protect the encyclopedia. Doug Weller talk 15:54, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: Now you are threatening me, you little t**t !! I wonder why you are tagging User:Ponyo here and what incident you are referring to about biographies ! I bet that you enjoyed Mr. Trump's victory very much and you express that through harassing me for no reason ! PUT UP OR SHUT THE F**K UP !! LeoHsn (talk) 18:48, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: If you are referring to Agnes-Nicole Winter, I just took the birth date written in her Swedish Wikipedia article, then added the third apostrophe to make the name bold ! regarding Bahar Pars I just added the Persian name then took the citation needed from the first sentence to the infobox !

So I did not add anything wrong !! And it seems that you are following what I recently edited, are you a stalker or something ?!! LeoHsn (talk) 18:57, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, aim your invective at Trump, not me - why it's almost a personal attack to call me a Trump supporter (that's humour, it isn't really a personal attack, just wide of the mark). If you really are requesting a block I can do it, but I'm not threatening you, I'm telling you that actions have consequences, and you need to change your actions (adding unsourced dates to BLPs in this case) if you don't want the consequences. I'm referring to Ponyo's posts in the section "Sources in biography articles", specifically the advice " For personal information, including birth dates, to be added they must be supported by reliable independent sources (see WP:DOB)." It's a simple thing, just follow our policy and uses sources that meet our criteria for reliable sources. Unfortunately you haven't been doing that. Doug Weller talk 19:03, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: I do not think that you are a Trump supporter ! you are a fake news fan boy ! This encyclopedia is not yours or mine, so who the hell are you to tell me that if I request a block you would do it ?! I do not get money from you to edit here so GET LOST ! LeoHsn (talk) 19:12, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I obviously misunderstood "PUT UP OR SHUT THE F**K UP!" - I now have no idea what I'm supposed to put up. Anyway, I prefer not to grant requests for blocks although I know some Admins who will. But seriously, stop the personal attacks. Read WP:NPA, WP:CIVIL, and WP:AGF. If you made those comments to another editor you'd normally get blocked. But they're like water off a duck's back for me. Doug Weller talk 19:34, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: you are the one who is harassing me in my talk section and threatening to block me because I am JUST replying to your dumb accusations and yet again in MY TALK SECTION !! I feel sorry for you silly duck !! LeoHsn (talk) 20:22, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Doug Weller: "put up or shut up" means justify oneself or remain silent. LeoHsn (talk) 20:29, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It actually means "should either take action in order to do what they have been talking about, or stop talking about it" which is slightly different. Since I'd told you about the possibility of a block I thought you were talking about that. As I created a section heading making it clear that sources for biographies of living persons had been mentioned before (by 3 editors I see) and I'd specifically mentioned Ponyo's warning, it never occurred to me that I needed to repeat myself. You've now been warned by 4 editors including myself, all of us Administrators with a huge number of edits compared to your 604 (combined we have well over a million edits) you need to listen to us and comply with policy. If you don't, you will be blocked. Doug Weller talk 16:08, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

UEFA Champions League Assists[edit]

Please refrain from reverting the official stats. If you do not know yet, let me educate you. According to UEFA rules, if a shot on target is blocked by the goalkeeper, but was scored by another player on the rebound, then the initial player is awarded an assist. You remember how Ronaldo has 3 goals & 3 assists in the EUROs. If you do, then fyi, the second assist was the rebound goal scored by Quaresma against Croatia. Also the statbunker site lists 5 assists for Ronaldo this Champions League, where as UEFA's official website shows 6 assists. Check the citation [1]. So would you rather go with some third party website maintained by some guy or the official UEFA website? Renoogreverof (talk) 18:10, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Renoogreverof: It seems that you are a stubborn human being who keeps nagging for no reason ! I am the one who added the assisting section in the article two seasons ago, and I am still responsible for editing that sections and many others. No one needs your contribution if you are rude and subversive ! LeoHsn (talk) 21:26, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ LeoHsn: Dude, Wikipedia is a public platform & no one owns any article or a section. It doesn't mater whether you added the section or not, providing the right information with credible sources is what Wikipedia stands for. I too have started a lot of new pages as well as sections. But I don't take ownership of the same, since I don't have the right to do so. As simple as that. You stating you started the section & is responsible for it, makes me think that you think you own that section of that article. You don't even take the courtesy to check the citations provided. When a third party website shows the wrong stats compared to an official website, you don't take the former into consideration. As simple as that. Please check the statbunker stats link for assists this season in the following citation. [2]. Then check the official stats for assists this season from UEFA's website here. [3]. And you're talking about updating a third party stats, when you have the official stats. Renoogreverof (talk) 11:04, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Renoogreverof: Of course no one owns anything in Wikipedia ! but as I mentioned earlier, I am the one who added that section, and I demanded multiple times to stick with reference as it gives the reader the full stats of that section and others !! you are the one who wants to remove the citation and discredits it despite of we have been using it for two years. I said once and would say it twice: if your edits are subversive, your help is not needed !! LeoHsn (talk) 15:05, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ LeoHsn: Buddy, I don't want an edit war or any vandalism. I'm sorry, but you have to be subversive when you find something wrong is being repeated. The citation provided which is statbunker doesn't have any kind of credibility to be given as a reference. It's run by a small web design company in the UK, called Gumpo. I went through an extensive search & found many wrong stats on statbunker. Apart from the one already mentioned, here are some. The Statbunker website shows only 2 assists[4] for Lionel Messi for the season 2012/13 whereas the official UEFA website shows 3 assists[5] for him, the same season. Similarly, the website shows only 3 assists for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season 2013/14[6], where as the official UEFA website shows 5 assists[7] for him the same season. There are a few more such errors I noticed & I've mailed them regarding the same and some random guy replied telling he'll look into it. UEFA's official website has the stats of each & every single season of UCL. Only the cumulative stats are not available. I'm now collecting the official stats of each player mentioned in the table from each season and will be adding the data to provide the real stats. I've calculated the assists from season 2003/04 until 20016/17 from the UEFA website & found that Messi actually has 27 assists, not 23 & Ronaldo has 35, not 32. I'll calculate the stats of rest of the players mentioned in the table & will give you the split stat from each season for each player. Or you could also do it yourself from here[8]. You can select the desired season & every statistics from goals, assists, attempts to fouls & cards are available. So why provide the stats from an erroneous source run by some random web design company when you have the official website itself. Renoogreverof (talk) 00:12, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Renoogreverof: Unfortunately, even UEFA is providing false data ! you can check this case: the fastest red card was for Olexandr Kucher, the UEFA Handbook in page 14 states that the sent off happened in 3:59,[9] meanwhile on the video it is obvious that the incident occurred nearly after 2:37.[10] LeoHsn (talk) 02:35, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ LeoHsn : Even if that is the case, it's just one error in their handbook pdf mentioning the timeframe. But that's not a reason to make some third party website with no credibilty the source/citation over the official UEFA source. And moreover, I don't think they could make mistakes in the more important stats like goals, assists etc. UEFA conducts the tournament and they have the stats on their website. This is a page pertaining to that tournament. So why bother with a website run by some web design company in the UK, when we have the official website itself. Anyways, thanks for hearing me out. I'm still checking the stats of rest of the players. Will update the right stats as soon as I'm done. Renoogreverof (talk) 09:41, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

March 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at European Cup and UEFA Champions League records and statistics, without citing a reliable source using an inline citation that clearly supports the material. The burden is on the person wishing to keep in the material to meet these requirements, as a necessary (but not always sufficient) condition. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Since most of its content is user-generated, Transfermarkt is not a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:07, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Sir Sputnik: It seems like you have a personal issue with that website, lol ! Anyways, I could not find an explicit source that states the penalties in each match and the stats of the goalkeepers other than transfermarkt. LeoHsn (talk) 22:11, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

March 2017[edit]

Two editors are disputing your edits. The correct course of action is to discuss on the talk page, not continue reverting. At any rate, your spamming of useless signature images onto multiple pages is disruptive; with regards to your edits summary, that other articles have the signature doesn't mean they are correct for having it. Acalamari 00:02, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That means "stop reverting". You are being disruptive. Acalamari 00:03, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Acalamari: Who said that adding the signatures is disruptive and useless ?! Some people may be interested in viewing them even though I am not one of them ! You are the one who is being silly by saying "what next fingerprints " I would say that I would add some toe-prints, that would be exclusive for Wikipedia ! LeoHsn (talk) 00:10, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Who said? I said - and I'm not the only one who is disputing your edits. Not to mention that the signatures are a potential copyright problem (and really, all those images need to be dealt with). My comment about the fingerprints was related to how they, like signatures, are used in some legal documents and are recorded; your "toe-prints" statements are sheer absurdities.
In addition, edit summaries like this make it obvious that you are trolling. Acalamari 00:20, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ SNUGGUMS: You and your friend (Acalamari) have reverted my edits multiple times already, but you say that I am the disruptive one !! What the fuck with this fucking logic !! Trolling then !!! Who started the trivial useless notes about fingerprints ?!

I will revert your edits as YOU reverted my edits because you started this nonsense and you even followed all my other edits, How about that ?! LeoHsn (talk) 00:26, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"I will revert your edits as YOU reverted my edits because you started this nonsense" - this is a stated intent to continue disrupting, which is likely to get you blocked. And I didn't start any "nonsense" nor did SNUGGUMS - you started spamming pages with these useless, low-quality signatures and have little reason for adding them beyond "some people might like them".
It's not hard to comprehend why I linked fingerprints to the signatures, as I explained above. Acalamari 00:32, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Acalamari: I am not the one who uploaded those useless, low quality, utter nonsense .. pictures ! I just put those into the related articles !! Why did Wikipedia accept the pictures of signature in the first place (go ahead and delete the signature in Donald Trump article, I challenge you !!) if they are so demonful as you and your friend SNUGGUMS have stated since the early dawn ?!

If you delete the signature in Trump article, I will refrain from adding the signatures ! LeoHsn (talk) 00:42, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Acalamari and SNUGGUMS: If you delete all the signatures in the articles of Einstein, Trump and all other presidents and famous people, I will stop "spamming" ! I wont do anything now to bring back MY INITIAL EDITS, as I want to give you 24 hours to complete the task. GOOD LUCK FOR BOTH OF YOU ! LeoHsn (talk) 00:57, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Signature inclusion (or lack thereof) within certain articles isn't by itself a good reason to add into others. They need to be of clear, legible quality, and credibly verified to be authentic. Low quality images have no place in Wikipedia. Inserting them just for the sake of others including signatures or perhaps because people might like them and reinserting after removal without any other reason is a violation of WP:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. Snuggums (talk / edits) 01:07, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Acalamari and SNUGGUMS: Nah, your try to justify has utterly capitulated ! As I mentioned earlier .. if you delete ALL the signatures from ALL the Wikipedia articles (that are also low quality and DO NOT ENHANCE THE ARTICLES !!!) in 24 hours, I would refrain from re-posting my initial edits. I have informed you my plan, I hope that would be no conflict after the 24 hours if both of you did not complete the task !! LeoHsn (talk) 01:40, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This response is another blatant violation of WP:POINT (which I linked above) and please don't harass others. You should really stop with bad comments like that. Snuggums (talk / edits) 01:45, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of List of Islam-related terrorist attacks for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of Islam-related terrorist attacks is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Islam-related terrorist attacks until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Jake Brockman (talk) 14:18, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jake Brockman: I quote "petty criminals with low life success who happen to be Muslims and pledge allegiance to ISIS", all this long statement and you want to exclude the attacks perpetrated by those Muslims from being documented under Islam-related attacks, and you even call that racism despite Islam is not a race ! What a pathetic justification ! LeoHsn (talk) 15:13, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Let's not open a separate thread to the deletion discussion. My main concern with this list - as it appears right now - is that it aims to link all violent incidents purely based on the perpetrators' religion and where the motivation may not be clear. And exactly that is the problem. WP presents verifiable facts, or at least tries to. This list will be a collective (dumping) ground of all that is unverifiable - with a religious bias. That just doesn't belong into an encyclopaedia. Jake Brockman (talk) 15:36, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jake Brockman: A Muslim attacks a church in Egypt, rams people in Nice and London just like what happened in Berlin !! yet you still complain about whether there is a motivation or not !!! users like you do not include such incidents under Islamist attacks neither under any category related to Islam ! this is called fact twisting and making Wikipedia controlled by fan boys of Muslim murders !! You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for personally attacking other editors. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  NeilN talk to me 23:45, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I want to be clear. Any more instances of incivility and I will block you indefinitely and revoke your talk page access. --NeilN talk to me 23:47, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi LeoHsn, I understand your sentiments, but Wikipedia has some policies about WP:NPOV, WP:NOT, WP:RS, WP:CONSENSUS and WP:VERIFY. Lets say, you included some terrorist attacks in the article. But, it won't affect the real world. It won't stop terrorists from killing innocent people. Marvellous Spider-Man 03:59, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And if anyone disagrees with you please don't assume that the editor is Muslim. Administrators will block you for WP:NPA and WP:DISRUPT. Marvellous Spider-Man 04:02, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry, LeoHsn. You've still got my support. Censorship is the first step to totalitarianism. Cyrus the Penner (talk) 04:45, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Marvellous: Who said that if you do a list of attacks that will do shit to the real world ?! meanwhile having people like in Europe invite millions of Muslims without a referendum !! However, people would like to view these information listed with a brief summary, even though each attack has its own page, because all the links of pages are included in the list ... Wikipedia in general works as the hub in which all the data of persons, things, and incidents are gathered from different sources to form an outline based on that ! You can tell why all these Muslim users oppose documenting all the attacks in one list, that would make their religion seem like shit based on the number of the attacks in one table each year ! LeoHsn (talk) 18:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The original residents of Australia are Indigenous Australians, The original locals of New Zealand are Māori people, In Canada the original people are Aboriginal peoples in Canada, In South American countries as Indigenous peoples of the Americas, and most important in USA, Native Americans in the United States. Marvellous Spider-Man 01:32, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@ Cyrus the Penner: Thanks buddy, honestly those "moderate" muslims who always try to discredit anyone who shows the truth about their religion are worse than the terrorists themselves, because these wankers do not do anything to fight radicals in their religion but they are only bullshitting us about how peaceful their religion is ! how pathetic, and you even get blocked ! LeoHsn (talk) 18:39, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice[edit]

@ NeilN: Go ahead and block my account indefinitely, you are just a pathetic loser who happens to be an admin in a virtual world, pfffffffff ! you and the other disgraceful losers (Exemplo347, RickinBaltimore and MarnetteD) can vote in favor of blocking my account ! How pathetic ! let the Muslims enjoy the censorship with their filthy liberal allies ! LeoHsn (talk) 19:09, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to suggest that you read this page in it's entirely. It may give you a better grasp of a reality you're not willing (perhaps able) to face. Mr rnddude (talk) 19:38, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
