Welcome, from Journalist[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, KnowledgeOfSelf/Archive01, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

  • Since others have mistook me for a program or bot of some kind that automatically welcomes newusers, Ill just like to start putting it out there that Im 100% real :)

Images[edit]

First off, thank you very much for your vote on my RFA, greatle appreciated.

Ok, the first thing you need to do is to familarise yourself with Wikipedia's policy about the copyright of images. For that you can take a look at the image use policy. After you have read that, you can search the internet for the appropriate image, (but remember to look if they have been copyrighted).

Once you have found the images, save them to your computer (maybe My Documents or my pictures etc). You then go to Upload file — it is situated at the left of this page, in the 'toolbox'. You click on browse, then when the window opens, you search your files to seek out which picture you want to upload, then click on it. After the name comes up, you provide a source in the summary section and place an appropriate tag at the licensing section. (If you are not completely sure what tag to use, then leave it and alert me, Ill tag if for you) After this, click "upload files".

Place the image in the article by copying its name and placing it in the appropriate article section, then formatt it with the appropriate syntax; Image syntax provides a little info on this. If you are still confused, let me know.

I can tell you first off that albums are considered fair use, so you can go ahead and upload it. For the others, be careful.

Your joke[edit]

Im not kidding, that joke was very funny LOL. Where did you get them from? I think Im justified in giving you this medal: (you can put it on your userpage). Thanks for the congrats also.

moved from userpage, left there on accident. Who?¿? 23:31, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I marked this as a stub. See WP:STUB for more on stubs and how to mark them. In general a stub tempalte is used, this both puts a message on the article itself, adn adds it to a stub category. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types for the list of currently available stub types. It is usually best to use the most specific stuib type form the list that fits the article. Up to two stiub tags are frequently used, the use of more than two is usually frowned upon. DES (talk) 23:25, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Joke[edit]

Very funny as usual. Ok, I have one. Im not a good joke teller so bear with me. Its from the cartoon Family Guy— you should really watch that cartoon, if you dont, youre missing big time. Ok here goes:

A man, Peter, and his wife Lois were sitting around the dining table, having their romantic, candle-light anniversery dinner. Lois, in a very sexy voice said,"Honey, Im not wearing any panties." Peter replied, in an equally sexy voice, "Thanks ok honey, we can always through that chair out." →Journalist >>talk<< 20:58, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

They were hilarious, especially the first one lol. sadly. Im all out now, but ill think of a few soon. →Journalist >>talk<< 21:30, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, Very, very funny :D. I really wish I had one to tell, but all of mine would come from Family Guy, and you'd have to watch it to get the joke. →Journalist >>talk<< 23:52, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Im still trying to find a photo, but so far, I havent found any that Im completely satisfied with. I should tell you that photos on album covers, promotional photos and screenshots as considered fairuse, so if you have any of those, dont hesitate to upload them; for others you must be careful. Ill still keep searching to see if I can find any thats appropriate. →Journalist >>talk<< 21:52, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to be taking so long, the computer has been a bit scarce (my brother and I have 1 million school assignments).

Naomi Long Madget[edit]

No worries. Sorry I deleted your article. Hope it didn't set you back. I guess that shows why it's important to state right away why a subject is significant; the sentence you accidentally saved didn't say anything, and looked like another vanity substub that I just deleted loads of. Off to do more. It never ends. -R. fiend 01:35, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Its quite simple: all you have to do is go to the top of the page, and youll see a button that says "move". When you click this, a page comes up that ask for the "new title" that you want it to be moved to. Delete the name there and place the correct spelling in the box, and supply the reason in the box below it. You could use "incorrect spelling." as this reason, then click "move page". Its quite simple. Ill be off now, my bro wants to use the computer:you guessed it assignments.

Long time I havent heard from you, old friend. Funny jokes as usual, especially the last one. I still can't stop laughing. lol. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 03:19, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but I think Im gonna stick with this sig now :). By the way, yeah, I just uploaded a press release photo of Ursula Rucker. It was all I could find that was 'fair use'. You're welcome by the way, Im happy to help, just ask. See yah, Im a bit sleepy. I have work tomorrow :) Oran e (t) (c) (@) 03:56, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to Journalist[edit]

Hi there! Since Journalist appears to be away now, I've taken care of your request. I've blocked user 202.59.20.83 due to repeated vandalism for 24 hours. If I can be of any further assistence, just let me know. Hugs! Shauri smile! 01:17, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warnings[edit]

Hello there. The "testx" summaries you're seeing are in fact standarized warnings. {{test}}, {{test2}}, {{test3}}, and {{test4}} are warnings that we use to warn vandals quickly. There are also other warnings, such as {{test2a}} and {{test2b}} for blankings, and {{blatantvandal}} (shortcut: {{bv}}) for blatant vandalism. Also, add "-n" to any template to make a reference to an article during the warning (example: {{test2-n}}). There is one additional template, {{test5}}, but that one should only be used by administrators once they decide to block the offending user. I hope this answers your questions, and ask me anything if you need more info. Titoxd(?!?) 01:39, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • To use them, just type {{subst:test}} ~~~~ (subst is used so the template is copied directly into the vandal's page) and that will do the job. Titoxd(?!?) 01:41, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

72.226.56.123[edit]

Hi, thanks for the help with the vandal . . . that was the page I was looking for while I was reverting. Now I know right where to go. Thanks for the welcome, BTW, Wikipedia is an awesome place, in spite of the vandals! - orioneight (talk) 02:28, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

userpage[edit]

I've been distant huh? Oh well, cant help it. The first thing Id like to do is commend your new signature, cool. Secondly, I want to give you this Exceptional newcomer award.
I, Orane give K.O.S this Exceptional newcomer award for being well, a brave and exceptional newcomer. Good work, and keep it up. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 16:31, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thirdly, for your userpage: what kind of look are you going for? I can border the page for you, like mine; you can go ahead and change the colour to what ever you like. I can also centre-align everything for you. As for the awards; on Wikipedia, they are like trophies, and they are usually held in high regard, so I'll put them on your userpage for everyone to see. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 16:31, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It may be crowded because of all the info that you have on it. I had to exclude a lot of information when I developed my page. If you want the "pic of the day" on your page, all you have to do it write {{pic of the day}} on it, and a nice picture comes up, which changes each day. RE: Jung-Suk Ryu[edit]

Hi there - the revisions made to the article on Jung-Suk Ryu should not be considered vandalism. The version that I keep on reverting back to is what I think is the most accurate, and most unbiased portrayal of events. Some of the events that you have quoted are not true - for example, Jim Farell at the Edmonton Journal retracted his comments that he made with regards to Kevin Taft's endorsement of Jung-Suk Ryu. It is an actual fact that he endorsed the candidate, but he later WITHDREW his endorsement of him because of the stories behind the fictituous campaign manager. Furthermore, the fictitious campaign manager was an inside joke that was kept within the inside circles of the campaign, and was only leaked to the press by an individual who wanted to spite the candidate. This can be proven by several members of the campaign team, some of whom have made contributions to the article on Ryu. Unless you are willing to create an article that can reflect on these and some of the other aspects of the campaign, then I believe it is in the best interest of the public and Wikipedia to revert to the article that I have revised.

Thanks!!!![edit]

Wow, that looks great!!!! That's what I've always been trying to make my user page look like, but I've never had the time to do so. Thanks so much! Titoxd(?!?) 06:14, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. I've got to give you something. This Graphic Designer's Barnstar shall do. :) Titoxd(?!?) 06:16, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia, KnowledgeOfSelf/Archive01! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Is my generic welcome message - I customised it and now have a little tab at the top of the page to insert it automatically! See the user-scripts project for info on how to do that. --Celestianpower háblame 18:24, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've added it to your monobook, hope you don't mind. Create your custom welcome message here. By the way, I ike the joke. If only all users were that nice... --Celestianpower háblame 19:04, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Coming, just give me a sec. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 23:02, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome Template[edit]

Ok. To do your own welcome template.

You know how the normal template is {{subst:welcome}} right? To make your own,
  1. you need to get a special name different from the plain "welcome" for example "KOSwelcome" (use KOS or something just to differenciate it from the normal template). (Mine is {{Jwelcome}}).
  2. Edit this page and place {{KOSwelcome}}, and save it.

You will see a red link (like the one shown below).

  1. Place all the text of a "welcome message" on that new page. You can also edit it to make it say what ever you want.
  2. Save that page
  3. you're Done.

After doing so, anytime you enter {{KOSwelcome}} on a talk-page, your own welcome message will come up. If you are still confused let me know. Oran e (t) (c) (@) 23:21, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jokes[edit]

Oh, a whole plate of Wikicookies for your humorous jokes

Ha! Those were incredibly funny, especially the one about the extra violas thrown on the back seat of the car. Actually, I haven't heard most of those before, and trust me, you hear them all in the orchestra pit. :) Thanks for the laughs. I hope to see you around the Wiki. If you insist...
Ok, then! Wash dem cookies down!! Cheers, Bratschetalk | Esperanza 03:48, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
