Request reason:

I was asked by a client to create articles under the headings Alkemy X and Justin Wineburgh. In doing so, I tried to conform to Wikipedia guidelines by making the content neutral, factual and supported by verifiable citations. Upon receiving the block notice, I looked more carefully and saw that I should have disclosed my relationship. My apologies. The error was one of inexperience (I had only published two previous articles), not intent. An article that I posted a few years ago, Steve Banks (photographer), was about a person I knew 20 years ago. I was not paid for that article and have no ongoing relationship with the subject. Please let me know what I can do to have my account unblocked and be a better contributor in the future. Thanks for you consideration. Sorry again for the trouble. Kgayhart (talk) 18:37, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Per your agreement below, I will remove the block. Please comply with PAID on your user page as soon as practicable. If you have other questions, please ask at the Help Desk.331dot (talk) 17:18, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you know you won't be allowed to write about your clients, what will you edit about instead? 331dot (talk) 10:52, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have technical knowledge about film and television production, as well as certain trades (sound and picture editing, color grading, workflow management), and have written on those subjects for trade publications. I do not expect to publish often, but I do have expertise not widely available. Kgayhart (talk) 15:07, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The company(and its CEO) that you have written about is a media company; how will you edit about film and television production(aspects of media) and still comply with WP:COI? 331dot (talk) 15:32, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would restrict myself to writing about technical processes, craft practices, and the history of technical development, not involving specific companies or individuals. (I'm also going to retire from the business in about a year.) But I appreciate your concern and can avoid the subject matter entirely, if you think that's best. I also have expertise in the area of ultra-running. I have competed in many unique events (the Yukon Arctic Ultra, the Baikal Ice Marathon, Transvulcania Ultramarathon). I may have some things to share in that area and have no professional attachment to that sport. I leave it up to you. I appreciate the time and consideration. Kgayhart (talk) 16:17, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would be willing to unblock you on condition that 1) you fully comply with WP:PAID on your user page and 2) agree to not edit about clients and their field(which seems to be media). 331dot (talk) 16:51, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I understand those conditions and agree to them fully. Apologies, again, for running afoul in the first place. I appreciate your courtesy.Kgayhart (talk) 17:13, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
