A question regarding Malaysian food

Hello, hope I'm not bothering you with this but there's one thing I've always wanted to find out...

In South Africa we have something called "blatjang" which is a kind of peach Chutney. I was always told that it originally came from Malaysia, but nobody on the internet (except for some of my fellow Afrikaners that I found online) seems to have any idea what blatjang is. Maybe you could shed some light on this? Hope this question isn't too random or irrelevant :)

Re: Blatjang
Thanks for the reply (on my user page) :)
Belacan seems to be seafood, but blatjang is basically a fruit Chutney. Usually (but not always) it is used in curry and similar dishes.
On further investigation it seems that blatjang may have more to do with the island of Java than with Malaysia proper, so I suppose I'll have to go and hunt down some Javans (Javaers? Javaites?). Thanks for your help though ^^

A tag has been placed on Rosmah Mansor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Sk-Talk (talk) 18:06, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum

Hi Kawaputra/Archive 3,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

DG at BKI

I actually meant the airlines booking engine by that. Per their booking engine, flight availability between BKI and PPS have been zeroed out. pikdig (talk) 10:07, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I've been noticing User:Eby5arz's edits just today and found his edits appear to be centered primarily around blanking information that aren't in favour of pro-ruling government views, all while doing it without edit summaries. There were a few cut articles which I have only managed to revert recently, and I have a hunch, based on Eby5arz's editing pattern, that he'll be back for another round of blanking in the coming months. There really isn't much grounds to go after him for now, but perhaps it might be a good move to keep an eye on him. I'll do too. Thanks. - 60.50.255.23 (talk) 13:35, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Sure, i'll look out for him whenever i can. ќמшמφטтгמtorque 05:28, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Re: WP Malaysia / Members

Hi Kawaputra, I hope you can. :) I transcluded the new list and did not think of leaving the ones who did not respond under the Inactive header. As per your suggestion, I've gone and done that. Thanks for the suggestion. BejinhanTalk 09:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for providing a rewrite! It looks good, so I'll ask an admin to move it over the blanked main article. If you're interested and able to provide another rewrite, I thought you should know that I also blanked the somewhat related article Chong Siew Fai for copyvio too (it was created by the same editor).
