It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. Greek Letter Organizations...[edit]

Just to let you know, I have standardized the Greek Letter Organizations across the councils. Yes, the NPHC groups will use Incorporated as part of their name more commonly (having to do with pride with being *able* to do so in the 1940s), but IMO, that is not their WP:COMMONNAME.Naraht (talk) 15:40, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I find the "you've been warned" language threatening. You should not say that phrase at all to someone. I work for George Mason University as the social media manager and I find that it's necessary to update Wikipedia as quickly as something happens. Ms Dodd, tomorrow is the first of April, known as "April Fool's Day", on which it is common (although not universal) to play silly pranks, some of which are more obvious than others. The controversial nature of the late Justice Scalia, combined with today's date, and the fact that the new initials of the institution would spell out a homophone for a vulgarism, mean that we are inclined to take the announcement of the name change as being a prank. You may well respond by stating that it is not a prank, but that would be exactly what a prankster would say under these circumstances. Wikipedia does not need to be updated instantly. The name change will be integrated into the article on April 2nd, iff the school has not retracted or otherwise annulled the announcement by that time. DS (talk) 21:43, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to attempt to explain this mess. Your first edit had no edit summary. That accidentally made the edit look like vandalism. The second attempt was better, "Updated the name of the School of Law to reflect the name change that occurred on March 31, 2016 to the Antonin Scalia School of Law at George Mason University." The blunder was, "I'm a staff member at GMU authorized to make this major update." People who add nonsense often claim authority. Being the University president gives you zero authority over the content of this page. Gadfium set the page to only allow administrators to edit to avoid all the reverting of changes, which is also why people are clinging to the April fools prank theory to justify their actions. They are blatantly wrong to pretend that the Wall Street Journal‎, Washington Post‎, and the school itself are all in a conspiracy to pretend to be The Onion for one day. Ignoring a direct quote from a supreme court justice about her friend that just died is even more egregious.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Scalia’s colleague on the Supreme Court for more than two decades and a close friend, said in a statement:

“Justice Scalia was a law teacher, public servant, legal commentator, and jurist nonpareil. As a colleague who held him in highest esteem and great affection, I miss his bright company and the stimulus he provided, his opinions ever challenging me to meet his best efforts with my own.

“It is a tribute altogether fitting that George Mason University’s law school will bear his name. May the funds for scholarships, faculty growth, and curricular development aid the Antonin Scalia School of Law to achieve the excellence characteristic of Justice Scalia, grand master in life and law.”

The "you have been warned" business is not in any way a threat. That was because you accidentally made your edits look like disruptive editing. Your work for the University gives you zero authority here. Instead, find multiple reliable sources to support your claim (like the three above) that the law school really did change names, and wait until after the first so that the claim of "April fools prank" (which is already the thinnest of thin arguments) is no longer an issue.
