Extreme.[edit]

The fact that there are parts of the Eastern time zone more western than Indiana (not just in part of the UP of Michigan but a part of Canada, which also exists in the world) means that Indiana is objectively not the at the "extreme western edge" of the zone. Furthermore, saying "extreme" would be pointlessly melodramatic even it it was accurate. Other people have to endure late-in-the-morning sunrises too, some of them even later than those experienced by the "extreme" people of Indiana. -Jason A. "Pointlessly melodramatic"? Those are the words you choose for this conversation? Seriously?

Canada? What does Canada have to do with this conversation? Yes, in Ontario, there is a logical and clearly defined border between the Eastern and Central time zones. In Indiana, this border has been subjective, debated, meandering and controversial for a hundred years. Are you debating semantics on whether 87 degrees west in Indiana or 90 degrees west in Ontario are "extreme western borders of the Eastern time zone"? They are both on the extreme Western borders of the Eastern time zone. What is your point? That Canada and the Upper Peninsula both have clearly defined borders along their Eastern-Central time zones and Indiana does not?

Where are you from, Jason? What expertise to you lend to this conversation? I only ask because you snidely talk about "'extreme' people of Indiana" and speak of some assumed inconvenience of having to "endure late-in-the-morning sunrises too". You seem to have no concept or grasp to what the debate and controversy of time in Indiana actually is. You seem to have an "extreme" dis-tolerance of others, as evidenced by your talk page, so it all leads me to ask, what is your experience with the issue of controversy over time in Indiana? I don't know anything about time in Canada, and I don't know anything about time in Michigan. I do know time in Indiana, and I understand the debate very well. When you snidely make comments about Hoosiers as a Statehood and mistakenly think that the controversy has something to do about when the sun rises, it makes me think you don't know anything about this topic. So I ask what your expertise is to understand what the people of Indiana actually perceive to be the problem. Jstuck21677 (talk) 01:26, 26 February 2014 (UTC)jstuck21677[reply]
