Hello, Jozettebelmont, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.

Did you know that ...

...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?

Non-free image use[edit]

Hi Jozettebelmont. Not every file uploaded for use on Wikipedia is licensed the same way, and it's this licensing which determines how a file may be used. File:Your Silence Will Not Protect You book cover.jpg is licensed as non-free content which means each use of it must comply with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. The are ten non-free content use criteria which need to be staisfied for each use, and non-free content criterion #9 states that non-free content may only be used in articles. So, for this reason and per WP:UP#Non-free and WP:DRAFTS#Preparing drafts, the file cannot be added to User:Jozettebelmont/sandbox until your sandbox draft is approved as an article. That's fine. Nobody expects anyone, especially new editors, to know every detail of all of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines by heart. Mistakes are expected and most editors will assume good faith when they're made. Things only tend ot become serious problems requiring administrator intervention when mistakes are repeated over and over again despite warnings not to do so.

As you can see from the thread below this, the file has been tagged by a WP:BOT for speedy deletion per WP:F5 because it's now an "orphan". All non-free files are required to be used in at least one article per WP:NFCC#7 and those which aren't are referred to as "orphans". There's really no way around this other then to add the file to an article, but you should only do so if the relevant non-free use complies with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. If the file does end up being deleted, don't panic and reupload it again. Deleted files aren't really gone forever, but rather only hidden from public view. Such files can be fairly easily undeleted by making a request per WP:REFUND or asking the deleting administrator to do so. So, when the draft your working on has been approved and moved to the article namespace, just request that the file be undeleted. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized).
