Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Jmmeisner. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Dave Bautista, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Hello Jmmeisner. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Talk:Dave Bautista, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. I hope I am doing as you're asking when I confirm here that I am not being paid directly or being indirectly compensated for my edits. I was simply trying to correct errors on the page, and furthermore contribute the new film to that section. Jmmeisner, But (Redacted) confirms yours WP:COI and potential strong case of WP:PAID that you seems to deny. I would strongly suggest not to edit Dave Bautista or related pages in Wikipedia directly. I am not denying that I work with David. What I was saying is that it is not any part of my job or compensation, directly or indirectly to try to help the Wikipedia community have a correct birthplace and height. Jmmeisner, the long and the short of it is that you need to request edits, like you did. There is a different edit request template that we request editors with a conflict of interest use, which is {{request edit}}. The issue the height and weight request is that we don't use IMDB as a reliable source since it is user generated content without actual editorial control or fact checking. I fixed the birth location, and I also removed the paid editor template from your user page. I did add a userbox saying you disclosed a COI with regards to Dave Bautista, but you can remove that as well. Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#How_to_disclose_a_COI covers the ways in which you can disclose your COI while editing. As far as the height and weight go someone already removed them which is better than having the wrong information, but if you'd like the correct information listed we'll need a reliable source for that. No shit :-) But Wikipedia works from reliable sources. Can you provide sources - newspapers, for example - that address the fact that his height is misrepresented by WWE? Guy (help! - typo?) 20:54, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

This might surprise you but in an upcoming article in a major print magazine, they used Dave's Wiki height in the first paragraph of the article and that's what even brought it to my attention.

I had hoped that his IMDB page would suffice and I've been scouring the internet for a news source, but it's just not something talked about often. But he is 6'4" =)

I will say that I think Chris Pratt's height correct at 6'2 and he actually looks taller than Dave in many photos, so IDK. Funny thing is I just thought I was helping...
