Dear Jkloville, thanks for creating the article above, and Welcome to Wikipedia!. I'd like to request that you take some time to familiarize yourself with the policies that are core to the encyclopedia, important among those is the neutrality policy, and the biographies of living persons policy. When you start an article by saying "Colin Westerbeck is one of the most important sources on the subject of photography today.", this is not neutral. I've cleaned the article up, and formatted it per the manual of style, but I'd like to give you this box full of other helpful policies and guidelines, as they are quite important. The article Gerry badger has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Plagiarism for Gerry Badger[edit]
Your article on Gerry Badger was a copy of this one on the website of the Prix Pictet. At the foot of that page we read © 2010 Prix Pictet. There's nothing there about copyleft, let alone anything explicit about release under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License or the GFDL. There's therefore no clear reason not to think that this was plagiarism.
When you create or add to an article, you do so in a box immediately above the line Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted. Please do not repeat such reproduction of material that's neither clearly in the public domain nor clearly released under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License or the GFDL: doing so is illegal and it wastes others' time. -- Hoary (talk) 23:23, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Killip and Westerbeck[edit]
It turns out that your first version of Chris Killip is remarkably similar to this (Copyright © 2004 Photographers at Duckspool - All rights reserved). One might surmise that the copying was in the opposite direction, but the Duckspool article includes a remarkably awkward sentence in which In Flagrante and Martin Parr both appear, whereas just two minutes after creating the WP article you smoothed this out, removing mention of Parr.
Your other article creation has been Colin Westerbeck. But did you write it yourself? -- Hoary (talk) 23:44, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
