{{helpme}} How do I add a reference to an article? I have big news about something, but I want to put my source up. Dunno how. Giving me a layout for it would be appreciated. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The easiest way is to generally put the citation in <ref></ref> tags. For more information, see here. NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 03:30, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Hi there. You did format the reference correctly--that's great for such a new editor! Unfortunately, web forums don't meet our standards on reliable sources. I've put a bunch of links below that will help, and please feel free to ask anything you like on my talk page. — roux ] [x] 04:07, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's the show's official Forum, from one of the show's creators. :/ Jeremie Belpois (talk) 04:16, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jeremie. Whether the forum is official or not doesn't really matter. Our policies on verifiability and reliable sources require that any sources we use be established, reliable, and reasonably well-known for checking their facts. Forums can't and don't check their facts, so we can't use them as reliable sources. Good examples of reliable sources are: newspapers, magazines, news websites, scholarly books, scientific and other journals. Good examples of unreliable sources are: web forums, fringe magazines, wikipedia (actually, any open wiki), and blog posts. Look on the bright side, though: you did a really, really good job of putting the citation in! That's a lot better than many brand-new editors, myself included. All you need to do is find a reliable source that has the information you want. It's a TV show--maybe a website like IMDB - The Internet Movie Database has the information you are looking for? imdb certainly counts as a reliable source for facts like that. — roux ] [x] 04:27, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously, stop. You're not providing any source at all, and as long as you don't you will be reverted. I cannot help you if you just complain that you don't know what you're doing. I know how it works, but I'm not psychic. Read WP:SOURCES and provide and actual source. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 07:59, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. I've warned you enough in edit summaries and you haven't listened. Keep it up and you're getting blocked. Either provide a damn source for your claims or stop adding them. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 22:03, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There will be no "Oban Star-Racers" on Disney XD.[edit]

Just so we're clear, there will be no Oban Star-Racers on Disney XD. That program is not on the Disney XD schedule. So stop adding that show on the page. AdamDeanHall (talk) 14:24, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

well i just tried to make one but it said some sort of loop was detected...what is going on?Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:11, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

there's templates for characters of other shows, thoughJeremie Belpois (talk) 03:45, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Well, that show isn't as well-known as Star Trek or Hannah Montana, for example, so the individual characters do not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. In fact, this article and articles on other characters were the object of a deletion discussion back in 2007 in which it was decided to leave them as redirects. I'm not going to engage in an edit war over this, but I do have to tell you that most other editors here will probably concur with the decision that was made then. Thingg 03:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

yes it is, it's shown in nearly all of the countries in the world, and 2 years is quite some time, and the show and the characters in it have changed significantly since then, so the pages should stay Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:30, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have broken the page Odd Della Robbia. May I please fix it? sinneed (talk) 03:44, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

um no its not broken....its being worke don Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:45, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please get a French speaker (I have not spoken French heavily in 26 years, I can't help) who has better English to help you understand:

- You have indeed broken the page, generating a loop.
- You have restored a page which has been deleted as a result of an AfD.
- You are vandalizing Wikipedia by doing so.
- Revert your edit, retoring the page to working order.
- If you feel you must recreate the page, please do so in a Sandbox.
- While you are doing that, update the talk page to explain that you are going to restore the article. Note! It will be deleted again.

congrats, you just got reported for incivility Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:51, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry that you feel that was incivil. That was not my intent.sinneed (talk) 03:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May I impose upon you to tell me what was incivil? If I can understand, I will attempt to correct the matter.sinneed (talk) 04:00, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I wish you had answered me when I asked why you felt I was incivil. I would have explained. I make many typographical errors, and would have made no such assumption. You seem to not be able to understand 2 key points: you have broken a page (it now has errors on it), and you have restored a page that was deleted by AfD. I do appologize for not explaining why I thought you spoke French. You use a French name, and we are discussing a French cartoon. Nothing else. I do understand how the remark could have seemed offensive, and I apoligize apologize even for the seeming. As I once spoke French, I attributed the problem to the one I was familiar with.sinneed (talk) 04:30, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

January 2009[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Odd Della Robbia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. You have reverted the page 4 times today, to a nonworking state. sinneed (talk) 04:16, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Odd Della Robbia worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please create a wp:sandbox or use one of the existing ones, for your edit tests. Your edit test at Odd Della Robbia has not succeeded, and is on a page that in 2007 was put through the AfD process, and merged into another page. Please restore the page to working order, and do your tests in another area. sinneed (talk) 04:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

that was not a test..Jeremie Belpois (talk) 04:20, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you restore the page again I will report you for 3RR. This is your last warning. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 07:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you need to calm down, you're really irate.. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 07:44, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I warned you. Now you've been reported. You've been told why the page is a redirect and refuse to listen. You've been pointed to the proper avenues to learn what you're doing and refuse to. You need to stop and pay attention to what people are saying, especially when multiple people are telling you the same thing. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 07:54, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

its been nearly 2 years since that merge thing, i think it can be given another chance, as you can see, it's rather large already. there are character pages for much less popular shows, and those are fine Jeremie Belpois (talk) 07:56, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This does not change the fact that what you are adding does not change anything about why it was merged in the first place. All you are doing is making an alternate version of the old content. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 07:59, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

it might seem like that at the moment, but i'm extending it as i go along, not everything can be made in one edit. the list of characters page is too long either way. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 08:01, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter how much you add, because you're not adding anything substantial, just redundant details from the show. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 08:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

again, there exist character pages that appear to be fine to exist with a lot elss info and whatnot, like Jen Masterson. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 08:07, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just because that exists doesn't mean you can repeat it here. You have added nothing that wasn't in the article when it was merged, and thuis the result of the original AfD still applies. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 08:13, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

again, i am still working on it, chill. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 08:14, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're just using that as an excuse. It's clear from the tone in your writing that you aren't going to add anything more than details from the show. The article needs more than that. It needs character analysis from third-party sources, reception information, and stuff like that. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 08:19, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

no, i'm giving you the truth, i'm in the process of making it, a page cannot be fully completed in one dayJeremie Belpois (talk) 08:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

not to get in the middle of this, but if you really think you can make it better make it in a subpage of your userpage, then move it over. --Ender3989 (talk) 08:37, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jeremie Belpois, Just letting you know that I have reported a Three revert rule violation by you on the Yumi Ishiyama article here. prashanthns (talk) 09:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. B (talk) 14:02, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have reverted two different articles 8 times in the last day. Obviously other editors disagree with you. When your block expires, take some time to discuss your proposed changes on relevant talk pages or Wikiprojects before making them. --B (talk) 14:04, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When you return.[edit]

I am sorry that your behaviour resulted in your being blocked from editing. On your return, I hope you will hear what multiple editors are telling you, and join in discussion before making edits that are controversial.
Wikipedia is consensus-based. If you find yourself again in a situation where multiple editors are telling you to stop, you will be much better served, and Wikipedia will be much better served, if you do, in fact, stop.
I will add a block of links below that I have found useful, although a bit dated. I hope you will too.
Further, I hope you will study the guidelines and rules for behaviour on Wikipedia, settle in, and make many productive edits. It is clear your heart is in the right place.sinneed (talk) 14:11, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You want to be blocked so soon after returning? Because you're asking for it by continuing your behavior instead of discussing first. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 01:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i have already Jeremie Belpois (talk) 01:59, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You don't seem to understand. Read WP:BRD. You've been reverted, by multiple editors, and have broken 3RR once already. Unless you want to sit out another block, you discuss first. Otherwise, I'll report you again. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:01, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i did discuss it Jeremie Belpois (talk) 02:02, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, you did not. You spouted the same "patience" nonsense you've been trying to use to get away with keeping the pages and went back to reverting. That is unacceptable. You actually have to convince the opposing side, which you have yet to do. Again, keep reverting and you get reported. Go to the talk page. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:04, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

um no go do your research before you try to act like you're some sort of figure of authority Jeremie Belpois (talk) 02:04, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now you're just posturing. You're already in the wrong here. If you want to restore the pages, you convince others first, because you're not going to force it. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:06, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i've reported you now, you're out of line here Jeremie Belpois (talk) 02:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

its been 24 hours since I last reverted! here i go!!! --Ender3989 (talk) 22:28, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're going to get blocked again if you keep reverting. I'd stop if I were you. you're not going to battle these pages into existence, not in the state you're leaving them in. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i think YOU should stopJeremie Belpois (talk) 02:20, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not a very clever comeback. Your attempt to report me only drew more suspicion to you, suspicion which would be very easy to make more of if you continue this edit warring in defiance of the AfD which decided the articles should be merged. This is a fight you simply cannot win. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:23, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this shouldnt even be a fight, you are just simply rude. i explained it to the people who were reverting them before and they stopped. the afd thing was TWO YEARS AGO Jeremie Belpois (talk) 02:28, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't matter if it's two years or two days. You're restoring the articles without introducing any alterations that would void the original AfD result, therefore you are being reverted. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:49, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i dont care..stop it.. youre the one causing [problems Jeremie Belpois (talk) 02:55, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for saying that. Now that you recognize that you're not going to listen to reason, I can quote it when I report you for edit warring. If you want to try and make the pages, you can make them in a sandbox first. User:Jeremie Belpois/Sandbox is a good place to do it. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 03:01, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you're the one editwarring Jeremie Belpois (talk) 03:03, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Again, not a clever comeback. You could at least try. I'm upholding the result of the AfD, and you've been reverted by multiple editors. You're not on solid ground to be accusing anyone. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 03:07, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Until you can prove this Code Lyoko Reloaded exists, you'll be reverted. You can't just add rumors and expect to keep them. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 03:26, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Look, I've explained this several times but I'm going to repeat it. You can't use images linked from a fansite as references. An article or something would work, but not pictures. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 20:20, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm tired of this game. I'm just going to report you if you continue. You've been blanked by more people than just me. Force isn't going to solve your problems. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 19:26, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

nah man, i think i'll report you for blanking, which is VANDALISM! Jeremie Belpois (talk) 19:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in this case, as the blocks attest to. You're not going to force your list. You can revert and revert, but it will never succeed. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 19:29, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you're vandalizing, removal of the international broadcast is pointless unless you discuss your reasoning, and your only excuses are not working, if you think it should get it's own page or whatever, let me know and i can start on it Jeremie Belpois (talk) 19:30, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you want to play that game, eh, kid? okay, you have been reported for vandalism in the form of blanking content. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 19:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not vandalism. It's a content dispute. Try using the article's talk page. Also, stop reverting the removal of your warning. Editors can remove pretty much anything they want to from their talk pages. See WP:BLANKING. --OnoremDil 19:52, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

on Code Lyoko, it is blanking that he's doing. he should be the one discussing it, not me. hes the one trying to remove content Jeremie Belpois (talk) 19:56, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Before you start a pointless reverting spree, please listen. Those articles were merged in AfD, and you have added nothing to change that result. You can't just bring them back in the same quality with no evidence of improvement. AfD is against you this time, please stop and discuss it on the talk page. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 23:40, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I DID. you arent. stop this now. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 23:42, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously you did not listen, or you wouldn't move on and revive the same articles which you were reverted repeatedly on. You don't listen, you dismiss. The articles are no better than when they were merged, and you've admitted you will add nothing else to it because you think it is fine. It is not enough, period. Find a featured article on fiction and read it. Look at the differences between what you're doing and what featured is. Your article isn't enough to change the AfD, so stop edit warring over something you can't deny. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 23:45, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

you are the one not listening. you have been reported. Jeremie Belpois (talk) 23:47, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This has become quite a mess. Let's set aside accusations of vandalism for a moment and discuss the articles a bit more directly.

What crucial information is present here and here that isn't present here? Why is it crucial, and how would you verify this information save watching the show directly? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire - past ops) 02:33, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Oddlyoko2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Oddlyoko2.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:06, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Aelitainfobox.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Aelitainfobox.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — neuro(talk)(review) 00:17, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Oddlyoko2.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Oddlyoko2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 00:17, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Disney XD, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Powergate92Talk 22:51, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Code Lyoko[edit]

I saw that you're accusing The Rogue Penguin of being several different people on Code Lyoko. You are in fact reverting 3 different editors when you're making your reverts. If you would like to have wikipedia investigate, and then make yourself look like a tool even further, please check out Wikipedia:Sock_puppetry. To me it would seem that you are an extremely immature editor, who only knows how to lash out at others, when the majority of people do not agree with your position. Please quit editing articles related to Code Lyoko, even though to you it may look as though you are expanding them you are often adding completely unsourced information or in come cases information that looks like you found as a rumor on some website, related to Code Lyoko. I'm sorry if this is a bit harsh, but you're really negatively effecting the pages effected here. --Ender The Xenocide | ( Talk | Contribs) 13:49, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please, just stop. There's three different editors you agree that your list doesn't belong that are reverting you, and a fourth who has the same opinion. This asinine edit warring without ever rationally discussing it will only cause more trouble. So seriously, knock it off and discuss before reverting again. Like Ender said, your contributions on the whole are largely negative, and it is not helpful to keep restoring them. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 02:58, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've reported Jeremie again for his asinine edits and vandalism as well as addition of non-sourced information--Ender The Xenocide | ( Talk | Contribs) 17:51, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
