License tagging for Image:Will rogers inside.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Will rogers inside.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:10, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Photo sizes[edit]

Thank you for donating your excellent photographs to the Wikipedia project. The pictures you added to the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma article look great! Since there are now quite a few images in this article, as per the Manual of Style: Images guideline and the official image use policy, I have changed the photos from a forced-size to the standard thumb. If you were not already aware, using the thumb specification allows logged-in users to control the sizes of thumb images via their user preferences. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or issues. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 18:44, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oklahoma section[edit]

Hello. Your contribution wasn't the "vandalism" I was referring to. There was someone who typed "KKK" and I also reverted that. I removed your paragraph because it violated our policies on advertisements and undue weight. We generally don't mention specific businesses or publications in articles with few exceptions for very notable publications if they are the primary news outlets in the state, such as the Tulsa world and the daily Oklahoman. For anything else, such as a particular magazine, in most cases it is not even appropriate to state it briefly in an article about a state, not to mention devote an entire sentence to detailing specifics about a magazine. Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:45, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Federal hall statue.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Federal hall statue.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 22:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Nba okc logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nba okc logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:OklaBaptistOfficiallogo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:OklaBaptistOfficiallogo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 10:07, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
