  • 1960 - A naming scheme was introduced for the Eastern Pacific with four lists of twenty female names used over the next five years without starting over.[1]
  • Spring 1988 - The United States National Hurricane Center took over the primary warning responsibility, for the basin from the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Center.
