It's been grand folks.

Thanks![edit]

for that ;-) Pointing the RSN folk at the infobox will not endear us to them... the "handy table" will make everyone's lives easier. TFOWR 13:59, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Truth be told, I'm far too lazy. I was waiting for others to add the sources but my patience ran out. :) Jack forbes (talk) 14:02, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm...[edit]

Scotland article, third edit from the top dated 08:22, 22 June 2010. The username caught my eye... --Frank Fontaine (talk) 15:09, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've brought it up with an admin. I'm pretty sure a username can't be the same as a high profile person. We'll find out soon enough. Jack forbes (talk) 18:28, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No Problemo. thought I would give you, as a Scot, the er, honour ;) --Frank Fontaine (talk) 21:28, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He's now been asked if he is the Alex Salmond and if not he should make that known. Imagine if he was? Jack forbes (talk) 21:31, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Would mean the end of the world! I mean, cool, another person to add to the list of notable wikipedians. --Frank Fontaine (talk) 21:52, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What does a person have to do around this joint to become a notable Wikipedian?!!!--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 07:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

...or Alexsalmond (talk · contribs · count). Not heard a peep from him, so I'm assuming our interviews with The Herald (we got promoted!) are cancelled. :-( I'll wait a day or so, then drop a "I am not really Alex Salmond" on his userpage. TFOWR 20:27, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good stuff, TFOWR. The Record would have twisted our words anyway. :) I have actually decided to leave wikipedia and have scrambled my password, so no more Jack forbes around here, even if I wanted to change my mind. After all my talk of leaving in the past I reckoned this was the only way to ensure that I stuck to my guns. As Frank would say, it's a love hate relationship with this place, but there had to come a time when I drew a line under it, and this is it. I've enjoyed our interactions on wikipedia, TFOWR, and I'm sure you'll continue to bring your unique humour and commonsense to this place. All the best mate! I can't go without talking of Jeanne and Dai. Some people make it a joy to be part of a project like this, and you both certainly did that. I will miss our banter and hope the two of you continue your good work on here and remain the good people you are. And GoodDay, I'll miss you too, even though on occasions (in the past) you got my back up with some of your article talk page comments. I've always known you were a good guy who can be a little bit mischievous. All the best guys. (Jack forbes) 86.176.211.216 (talk) 11:39, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Damn, that's a shame. Well, you're always welcome (as an IP if needs be) on my talkpage. I sincerely hope you can't resist the call of the wild, and return someday soon! TFOWR 11:44, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
TFOWR, could you please delete my archive boxes and maybe place a retired template at the top? Even though I know it's me I'm not sure if it would be appropriate for an ip to do this. I'm happy to leave the posts that are here now. Thanks. PS: It won't let an ip (me) do this. (Jack forbes) 86.176.211.216 (talk) 12:35, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is done. I wasn't sure if you wanted the archives themselves deleted, in which case I'm not sure I can. Let me know if you do and I'll check the rulebook. TFOWR 13:04, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine as it is, TFOWR. Thanks and take care. 86.176.211.216 (talk) 13:11, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(Apologies to TFOWR) Just came across this. Damn, damn and damn. Woe, all is lost. Who will be the voice of reason in places like List of national capitals where only evil British nationalists reside? While respecting your decision Jack, I wish you would reconsider. If not, please email me off-Wiki - hopefully you remember where. Otherwise please let TFOWR know (or Jeanne) and he'll be able to email me using 'E-mail this user' in the toolbox on my user page. Best wishes, Daicaregos (talk) 16:38, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sad to hear this Jack, I really will miss you. Do consider returning as you are needed here. Take care and please think about coming back OK?--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 21:06, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You'll be back, Jack. GoodDay (talk) 23:13, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Jeepers. I only just saw this. You'll be missed Jack. --HighKing (talk) 16:12, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
