Re:Free Images[edit]

You're welcome to upload your own images without need for OTRS tickets (unless your own images are also on other websites) and you're welcome to upload free Flickr images. Are there certain files that are proving problematic? J Milburn (talk) 00:54, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can upload via Flickr if you like, but there shouldn't be any need. If the pictures are obviously your own work, there shouldn't be any problem. What picture in particular were you thinking of uploading? J Milburn (talk) 11:03, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Much slower, and really is kind of pointless. I'm one of the few people working on the image submission queue on OTRS- if there's nothing suspicious about your image, there shouldn't be any problem. J Milburn (talk) 11:29, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you've got the message about "possibly unfree files"- if an image is tagged as non-free, it is pointless tagging them as "possibly unfree". If you feel an image should be deleted, you can tag it with one of the speedy deletion templates or send them to files for deletion. I am not saying that you have, but please note that targetting specific images because of a dispute with the uploader is considered wikistalking, and is something that will not be looked upon kindly if the issue is raised at one of the behavioural forums. J Milburn (talk) 14:32, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You call what I did wikistalking yet these editors are allowed to do the same thing to me? Where's the sense in that? JKSarang 19:41, 17 November 2009 (UTC)55, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, I said that targetting images merely because of their uploader would be considered wikistalking- I explicitly said I did not want to accuse anyone of anything. Which images do you feel have been tagged incorrectly? J Milburn (talk) 18:55, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Each of the images you mentioned seems to have been legitimately nominated for deletion. I just supported the deletion of each one. The two non-free images fail our non-free content criteria and the free one needs OTRS confirmation. J Milburn (talk) 12:24, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Hero(MBC) Cast.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Hero(MBC) Cast.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Michaela den (talk) 11:11, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
