KBWB[edit]

Sorry, but to add an image to Wikipedia you have to go to Special:Upload and give it a descriptive file name, a description, and an image copyright tag, and then add it to an article (such as KBWB). You can't simply put "Image:" in front of the URL of an external image, as external images cannot be used on Wikipedia due to technical (and other) reasons, so it won't work. Fair use images[edit]

Further to your comments on my talk page, there is it is not my place to "speak with him and tell him". I would suggest if you are having difficulty with a user's actions, admin or not, you review the dispute resolution at WP:DR. Based on a very cursory look at the talk pages, I would think that you have tried to discuss this with the user, so perhaps proceed to the second step in the process. While I have not looked at the specific page these images were used on (you did not provide the link in your email), I am not generally a big fan of fair use images myself. There are places for it, like logos and deceased people, I think it is too freely used here. Wikipedia's policy on fair use is stricter then required by US law, such are the rules here.--Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 02:48, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do apologize for my words but since fair usage is needed, I think it is more than warranted that I have done my very best to my KICU's logo's to place them in a good fashion. KICU. Furthermore, I think that The resolution is a way to take is that I confront the user and hopefully that he may understand that Fair Use Images should be used freely. But each time that a gallery is used, the user, deletes them because he seems very ignorant of the Fair Image use and just deletes it as if he didn't care at all or have a heart. So I'll do my best and hopefully that I can at least permenantly use the images without having the user delete it. But anyway's I'll use the Dispute Resolution tool. Thanks for your help.

About Your KICU Logo[edit]

I don't know the exact rules of "fair use", they keep throwing "legal issues" up (which is bull-malarky)...but A Man in Black is going to delete the image galleries (except for the logo inside the info box)...and it seems like no one wants to stop him or find middle ground to keep these images, some of which have been on Wiki for awhile now. I think if it was a "legal issue", we would have heard of a lawsuit or something. I personally doubt that a TV station cares if Wiki uses their old or even new logos.

My advice, is if it is a current logo, put it in place of the logo currently in the infobox...if it is a past logo or image....well, I am not really sure, cause A Man in Black will come along and delete it sooner or later.

Maureen Naylor[edit]

Thanks for dropping a note about this article... simply put, the problem isn't with references -- many local TV personalities (from all around the country) do not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. There are no set, firm guidelines for who's "notable" and who isn't (although some have been kicked around by Wikipedia's TV Station project) -- but, as written right now, there isn't anything in Ms. Naylor's article to distinguish her from any other local TV news anchor in that market (or any similar-sized markets). Hey there... perhaps I should clarify -- take a look at Walter Jacobson, who used to anchor for Fox in Chicago. Prior to retiring, he had been established in his market for a long time, has won numerous awards, and the article describes his life and career. You do not need to write "I think Ms. Naylor needs to be Wikipedia because..."; you need to actually show it with established, verifable facts about Ms. Naylor. Happy editing! WCVB-TV[edit]

As far as I know, Boston is still ranked #7 on Nielsen's DMA list — smaller than the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas market (#5), another market home to an ABC affiliate not owned by the network (WFAA-TV, owned by Belo). I have seen according to the articles on KSBY had a total of six syndicated shows. There is a maximum of five syndicated shows per article to not run afoul of WP:NOTTVGUIDE.
