July 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Teratix. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Private intelligence agency have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. TeraTIX 03:13, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Private intelligence agency, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - theWOLFchild 04:25, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

External links verification[edit]

If an external website link has been attached to a article, wouldn’t be enough as a “legit verifiable source?” The guidelines not clear about this subject. JBSZBO (talk) 04:47, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but no. That a company has it's own webpage does not establish WP:NOTABILITY. Please read through Wikipedia's sourcing policy, especially the difference between WP:PRIMARY and WP:SECONDARY sources. Also, have a look at the other entries on that article and the sources attached to them. Hope this helps - theWOLFchild 05:17, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, JBSZBO. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Private intelligence agency, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted.
Note: possible COI concerns arise from this edit , attempting to add United Intelligence Services (UIS) to the above noted article.
