Curiel family[edit]

Hi! You created Curiel family and added many persons to the page and to Category:Curiel family, but there seems to be no evidence that all these people are truly family of each other and not just share a name. E.g. Carlos Curiel, Leobardo Curiel Preciado, or Pedro Curiel. Could you please add a reliable source that lists all these people as members of the same family, or else remove them from the category and the family article? Thanks! Fram (talk) 13:32, 30 October 2019 (UTC) Hi Fram, I'll remove those that I cannot find evidence for. Sorry and thanks![reply]

Then why do you readd it some months later[1]? Fram (talk) 08:18, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And again[2]? Please stop, you are being disruptive. either provide good sources showing that these people are indeed family (and that it is in some way relevant, for most people it has little biographical importance what their ancestor did in 1650, or what some cousin 8 times removed is doing now). Just having the same last name is not sufficient. Fram (talk) 15:11, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Just because you had to put a source through Google Translate to understand what it says, that does not mean you should cite Google Translate. Cite the original source. DS (talk) 21:31, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Marciano Curiel Merchán[edit]

  • Hello, I was the editor that nominated the article for deletion. I genuinely hope you don't find this discouraging, although I know from experience this is hard to do. Please contribute to the discussion on the nomination page. It's certainly possible it will not be deleted if you make a good case for notability and others agree with you; I'm completely open to changing my mind if you convince me. Writing an article can be very difficult if you're new to Wikipedia and it often takes some time and experience before success. If you wish me to, I'd be happy to request the article be moved to your draft space so you can continue to work on if; alternatively, you can post the sources on the nomination page or add them to the article for others to consider. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know and I genuinely do hope you're not discouraged. Best wishes,   // Timothy :: talk  21:15, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Timothy, Thank you for your nice message regarding the article I created Marciano Curiel Merchán. I understand that it is felt that Merchán is considered by some non-notable on the English Wikipedia, but he is certainly well-known in Spain for his many contributions to folklore and education. As you kindly offered, I would be grateful if you'd move the article to draft space instead of deleting it entirely. Thank you again, Timothy

Marciano Curiel Merchán moved to draftspace[edit]

Per AfD discussion, the nomination for deletion has been withdrawn and the article has been moved to Drafts for further development per your request. As mentioned, expanding the number of Spanish topics here is a very worthwhile goal, and I hope you continue to contribute. We lack individuals with your perspective and skills and I know you would be a very welcome contributor.   // Timothy :: talk  20:14, 15 August 2020 (UTC) Dear TimothyBlue, thank you very much for your kind words. I hope to find time between work to add further to Wikipedia. Very best wishes, intoto99[reply]

Hello, Intoto99. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Marciano Curiel Merchán".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 21:56, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Jacob Curiel (merchant, born 1687) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A few mentions, some listings, but no significant coverage. Some of the current sourcing does not even mention him. Does not meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
