Hello
I’ve taken the liberty of tweaking the layout of the renaming proposal you made here. Please revert if you are unhappy with it. Regards, Xyl 54 (talk) 02:38, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

@Xyl 54: That is much better. I do not object. Interstellarity (talk) 12:41, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Revision deletion criteria 2 vs criteria 3

I have been reading WP:REVDEL and looking at the criteria at WP:CRD. All of the criteria are understandable to me, but I'm having trouble deciphering the difference between criteria 2 and criteria 3. Can someone explain the difference between those two criteria and give some examples on what edits would fall into criteria 2 as well as criteria 3? Thanks, Interstellarity (talk) 14:11, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Interstellarity, (Non-administrator comment) I would say CRD2 is something like "Person is a slur" while CRD3 would be more similar to something like "Person is a serial killer". I believe CRD2 is intended to cover more blatant insults and pejoratives, while CRD3 is for statements of fact (or threats, or harassment, as well as the other bits CRD3 covers). I'm leaving the {{helpme}} up in case someone who actually knows what they're talking about, as this is just what I could glean from the CRD list. Perryprog (talk) 14:51, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
@Perryprog, @Interstellarity: RD2 applies to BLP concerns and insults – "[Living person] is a [slur]" may well be covered by that. "[Living person] is a serial killer" would also be covered by RD2, but is, in my non-admin and non-oversighter opinion, also oversightable (see WP:OSPOL). RD3 covers other kinds of disruption, such as threats or shock images. For example, a while back, a compromised account spammed some images that were rather uncomfortable to look at on an article about a politician; that was a case for RD3. Blablubbs|talk 15:08, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Can you give me an example of what exactly a slur is? I have no idea what it is? Thanks, Interstellarity (talk) 16:42, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
The usual example would be the N-word. Writ Keeper  16:44, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Correct. Racial slurs or anything of the sort would be RD2. Serious BLP violations also fall into RD2. Things such as shock sites, threats, links to viruses, HTML page breaking code, etc would be RD3. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:32, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

User:Oshwah/Templates/TalkpageMainTemplate

Thank you for reverting my edit to User:Oshwah/Templates/TalkpageMainTemplate. I was chasing down lint errors. I had previously edited User:Oshwah/Templates/TalkpageHeader to fix a div-span-flip lint error. It seems that this tab had inadvertently become an editing sandbox and I didn't realize this when I saw this lint-free tab five hours later and saved it by mistake. I'm usually very careful, but I messed this one up. Good catch! —Anomalocaris (talk) 20:00, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

@Anomalocaris: It's OK. We all make mistakes. Interstellarity (talk) 01:35, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Clarification request: Amendment request: American politics 2 closed

Per your request, the amendment request / clarification request you submitted has been closed. A permalink to it is here. For the Arbitration Committee, Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 16:22, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello Dreamy Jazz. Thanks for closing this. Two things: I think you gave the wrong permalink. It think it should be [1]. Also, it looks like you use five tildes instead of four tildes to sign. I prefer to see who sent this message rather than go into the edit history to see who sent it. I'm sure you know our signature policy since you are an admin here, but I think it's worth pointing out the mistakes of other editors. Interstellarity (talk) 17:51, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Whoops. I did mean to use four, but I must have been too over excited with the tildes . I've added in the rest of the signature just for clarity with ins tags. I always link the pre-hatted version of any motion / arca request for the permalink so that those who are viewing it don't have to press "show". Although pressing "show" isn't any effort, it saves the extra click. I get the permalink from the edit before I hat the section, so it is the last version before the closure and the closure itself does not make any change (except from hatting). Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 17:59, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
@Dreamy Jazz: Thanks for clarifying. I figured you made a mistake in the signature. I also appreciate you explaining your actions regarding the links. All the best, Interstellarity (talk) 18:56, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
