Career summaries[edit]

Just wondering what the point of these career summary tables are if all you are compiling is results already presented in greater detail beneath. It is duplication of effort and should be deleted. --Falcadore (talk) 09:06, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And those with career summaries show more data than is repeated in the tables below. We should not be adding different versions of the same statistics to articles. Use the career summaries to show NEW data. Also you may wish to have a look at WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS policy. --Falcadore (talk) 17:19, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Some have been removed anyway. Some drivers who have been involved in other race categories, such as Nelson Piquet, have more than just F1 data recorded, so adding a career summary makes sense. Idevo (talk) 17:23, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely it does. --Falcadore (talk) 04:18, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 24[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Martin Donnelly (racing driver), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page British Formula Three Championship. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:55, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Deletion of List of Formula One Grand Prix Wins By Nico Rosberg[edit]

Hello,

I would like to inform you that I have proposed your article: List of Formula One Grand Prix Wins by Nico Rosberg for deletion.

The reason for this proposal is that I feel the article is not needed, as in the Nico Rosberg article, all of his Formula One Grand Prix Wins are listed.

If you feel this article has good reasons to stay up, you can remove the tag on the article.

Sorry if my English is a bit broken, it's not my first language.

Have a nice day! Olivier111123 (talk) 05:19, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So does that mean other pages similar to that, such as "List of Formula One Grand Prix Wins by Lewis Hamilton" can be deleted too? Your proposal makes no sense. As you can see from the article, it goes into greater detail about those victories by Nico Rosberg. KrypticRule (talk) 09:05, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Luc Nilis[edit]

Hi. Thanks for self-reverting the capitalisation of "cup".

The club career stats table is currently unsourced. Some of the numbers differ from what worldfootball.net ([1]) has. Could you please say where you got the numbers from? We need to add sources per WP:Verifiability. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:36, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Winterslag and Anderlecht stats were found via https://www.national-football-teams.com/, whilst also referring to transfermarkt.
PSV stats were found via transfermarkt
The validity of national-football-teams & transfermarkt is often questioned on Wikipedia, but I use the website a lot for player stats (particularly for more famous and established footballers.)
Thanks KrypticRule (talk) 11:45, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply. Right, Transfermarkt is not an accepted source (WP:WPFLINKSNO). NFT is widely used and seems to be an accepted source. It's a pity but we will have to remove the numbers we cannot verify without Transfermarkt. I have changes ready to do that and will implement them unless you have a different solution. Let me know. Robby.is.on (talk) 11:58, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why Transfermarkt is not an accepted source? 90% of their information is correct. All PSV league statistics were gathered from NFT too. All cup statistics (cup, continental cup) were gathered from Transfermarkt. Whilst I can appreciate it isn't a credible source, I can guarantee they are 100& correct. In the mean time I shall look for other sources.
Thanks, KrypticRule (talk) 12:01, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why Transfermarkt is not an accepted source? WP:WPFLINKSNO says Transfermarkt should not be used because it is "user-generated" (WP:USERGENERATED), meaning it has no editorial oversight, people checking whether the data added by users is correct. Over the years, there have been a bunch of discussions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football where this point has been reiterated. If you want to investigate further, you can search the Talk page archives there. 90% of their information is correct. That would mean every tenth number would be wrong on average. That wouldn't be great reliability. In the mean time I shall look for other sources. Okay, keep me updated. I'll wait a little. I tried myself but didn't get anywhere fast. Robby.is.on (talk) 12:31, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair enough. I can't find any other sources that share similar results to what I found this morning. It might be worth removing the statistics from Winterslag and Anderlecht and keeping the PSV and Villa stats up. Unless you would rather remove the table all together? KrypticRule (talk) 12:37, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you would rather remove the table all together? No way! :-) Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater. I'd only remove the cup numbers for Anderlecht. I'll go about that now. Let me know what you think. Robby.is.on (talk) 12:55, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that looks pretty good. I appreciate the assistance on the table by the way. I'll continue to look for credible sources regarding cup information for Nilis' Anderlecht stats.
