Film speed / Image noise illustrations[edit]

Thanks for posting the gallery up, it was certainly needed. I've just finished a copyedit of it, hope you agree it looks a bit neater and reads easier. One thing, shooting the ISO1600 version at 1/4000s means the higher-speed shot is over-exposed by about half a stop (5.6@350s should translate to about 5000s at ISO1600) which might have the unfortunate effect of leading the reader believe that higher ISO means slight over-exposure, as well as increased grain. If you shot these RAW, maybe you could adjust the ISO1600 one to match, or if not make a curves adjustment, and upload a better-matching version? This will also mean removing the exposure information, although I don't think it was hugely relevant info in the first place. Cheers, mikaultalk 08:49, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
